What Jobs are we doing in the Garden today 2014..

Nope. That would speed composting, but I have a monstrous heap and leave it for two years before use, so not in a hurry, so-to-speak

You could get a Push one?

or a blower (some have Vac too, not suitable for lots of leaves [hopper fills too fast], but I use mine for the leaves under the roses to pick up all the black spot ones) - to blow them all to one place, rather than using a rake? The electric ones are probably the quietest, if they would otherwise annoy the neighbours?

Nice one @Kristen I normally use my lawn mower on the lawn (blades raised) if the leaves get chance to lay ,which is unlikely with my leaf fettish...I've also got a leaf suckerupper but it's so blooming heavy,I've been looking at others that suck and chew but still not sure about them,emptying the bag is such a pain IMO....

 

Emptied one of my beds of annuals and perennials I planted this year that I neither liked or did very well. It's now weeded and dug over and 'asleep' for the winter. The lavender in the same bed has almost finished blooming but I've left trimming that as the bees are still making use of it. Tidied up the roses yet again and removed some really tall suckers that had shot up.

No Armandii, but it's surprising what you pick up from a father that was.

Nahhh, he wasn't a skiver, he liked to keep himself busy to pass the time.

My dad was a Leading Aircraftman and spent a good part of his time in Egypt during the second world war keeping the planes fit for flying. At some point he spent time with Air, Sea Rescue too.
