just planted out 20 "Dogs tooth Violets" I coudnt spell the other name

just the 3 common ones "Pagoda" "dens canis" "snowflake" and I will see how they get on I have never grown before , I always missed out on buying them early enough or thought I aint paying that much
I have planted in 3 different parts of the garden to see what they like best growing conditions ? I will wait and see to before I pay the xtra for Harvington Snowgoose which is sold out across the UK anyway !!! its daft to go over the top ££ before seeing if they like growing here or not .

Went on a slug hunt in the greenhouse checking all the bottom of the pots , more than I expected the robin was sitting in the bushes as I threw them on the lawn

I am in the process of drying off the show begonias corms , the book tells me just to leave alone and just let all the stems and leaves drop off by them selves but it taking ages to do and the pots are bone dry , then I have to remove the soil carefully then take out the callous on the top of the corm to heal over and air dry the bulbs to ripen for 4 weeks then pack away with a dusting of "flowers of Sulphur"

I also need to shift the banana and the Colocasia into the greenhouse for winter

 

I only went out to hang up some washing ...
... then I thought .... that little piece of side wall inside of my back gate ... well, it has a sort of soil part to it ... ... and I don't like that ivy that is residing there ...

... took out the ivy; checked the depth of soil ... asked Mr "M" to cut a piece of trellis for the small width of fencing above the widest part of that soiled wall part ...

... long story short: have planted bulbs, seeds, some forget me knot babies and a climber in that area and between us, Mr "M" and I have put up 3 pieces of decorative trellis on a couple of existing fence panels plus 2 heavy duty pieces of trellis between us and the neighbour (his fence, asked permission and he was fine with it ). So, now my patio area has high trellis on the right hand side Won't go any further down the garden with it at the moment because we need to get some more posts and trellis then we have in reserve and it would look totally naff-naff (instead of just naff ) if we had continued the line any further without completing it. I know it is only psychological, but the pieces we have put up have definitely made that side of the patio area "seem" more private

Oh and I also encouraged Mr "M" to try out the patio table and chairs down the bottom left paved area and to move the twin seat from there to the patio. Looked completely wrong so had to move them back again Well: had to try didn't I, otherwise I would never had known for certain that they wouldn't look right

Collected seeds for seed swap, dug out big patch of montbretia which has got out of control, dug last of potatoes, got garlic ready for planting today, potted up some salvia cuttings, picked last few tomatoes.

heavily pruned one of the golden willows , just a trunk left 3 meter's high , I want it to re shoot as this is the one that has struggled to settle in and sent out two branches outwards not upwards.
