Read that Papaver Rhoeas like a period of cold and can be sown outside now so I found a place to sow a few. Sowed some Penstemon "True Blue" in the heated prop as they can flower the first year from an early start so I thought it was worth a punt. If they flower this year then good and if they wait til next year, well it's something to look forward to! :dancy: Noticed that some of my crocuses are flowering.

Started the annual washing down/cleaning of all the greenhouse glass, ready for seed sowing to start next week.

I make a point every year of removing any panes which have moss growing under the edges and scraping out the moss before it gets too established. There's definitely more moss than there was last year, the mild wet winter must have encouraged it.

It's a slow, fiddly job but well worth doing and satisfying to see all that lovely clean glass afterwards. Got over half the greenhouse done, hopefully I'll get it finished tomorrow if it isn't too windy. :)

Replaced an old rotting gate with a new one, that I made last week, in the back garden while the weather was fine.

More clearing weeds, nettles etc from under trees as I plan to underplant with something more attractive (to me). Left a little bit as there were a few ladybirds enjoying a wander round so thought I'd leave them something till the good stuff comes through.

I don't wash down the greenhouse glass - it saves me putting shading on it :heehee:

If I took the moss off the greenhouse it would fall apart :hate-shocked:

The winds were gusting almost to gale force so I had to take shelter by the pond with a mug of tea and think about the coming Spring:coffee::hapydancsmil:

I had a big bonfire and burnt most of the debris that had come down in the winds. :blue thumb:

Then I found signs of deer and badgers that had been rampaging through the bottom of the garden  and something has dug a large hole through the bottom of a poplar tree that been cut down to 3ft because it had died.

As it was such a sunny day I mowed five lawns. These are two of the main ones

and I did a load more of moss clearing. This is typical of what I still have to do :hate-shocked:
