Made this today from some willow I "found"

Hopefully it will support my ox eyed daisies a bit better this year.

Thank you :) But anyone could do this. I found a book ages ago from the library on green garden structures and followed the instructions. Might have a stab at making an obelisk before the book goes back.

JJ I love your supports, have just been googling obelisks and plan to make some this year so might make a start today, inspired by yours. They are lovely, you are so talented.

Off to the orchard, coppiced some hazel and got 10 lovely straight lengths, and found a willow with fairly long witheys, so will try and make 2 obelisks tomorrow. Wondering whether to split the willow or use it as it is for twining around the structure?

                  Ouch!

Potted up some Gaura seedlings. That is all. Too wet to do anything else this afternoon.

Potted up my Golden Berry seedlings and moved them to the greenhouse.

Put my second batch of sweetpeas to soak ready for chipping.

Went to Wilkos......my bank balance and I blame all of you!:heehee:

Oh and picked the first of my mushrooms to reach eating size. I can't stand the things myeslf but they're easy to grow and help to keep the parents sweet for dog walking favours!

You could wrap it around each other to form a thick ring like a quoit then slip these over the poles. That's what I plan to do. I think that splitting willow would weaken it somewhat if you are going to weave it in and out of the hazel poles. Just my two pence though....
