We're working on it and have three other areas for pots. Some of the plants won't be big enough for sale this year.

I've done a bit more pressure hosing this morning. Dug and composted a few areas and put in 10 plants. Looks as though rain is coming so I won't carry on with the hedge cutting! My cutter is electric!

Cut the grass for the first time this year. Thought I wasn't going to be able to as it was raining first thing but by mid morning the sun was out and quite a good breeze so it dried out enough to cut this afternoon.

Mowing the lawn (if it stays dry - forecast is for rain), digging out plants and digging over borders, planting a couple of shrubs, some bulbs and sowing seeds.

Was going to work wonders in the garden today, but have woken up with a king size head and face ache, not particularly liking daylight, and feel like death with a pulse. Not sure if its hayfever, sinusitis, a cold or a migraine, but whatever it is, its playing nasty. :sick0026:

Belted the blighter with a succession of ibuprofen, paracetamol, decongestant and now anti-histamine in the hope that I might feel a bit better before the whole day is wasted. Think I will just get the plastic sheets down and do some pricking out whilst catching up on a bit of telly - I know its cheating, but I refuse to take a weekend off and end up with nothing getting done.

Well, yesterday turned out better than I thought it would. The rain turned up for 10 minutes and then the sun came out again. So I did cut another conifer hedge and dug, composted and planted out another area.

Today, in between hail showers, I started smartening up some of my lawn edges (the older members on here know I'm a bit OCD about that :heehee:), did some weeding, and dug and cleared a wheelie bin full of weeds in the veg patch.

Well, I got 140 plugs that arrived from T&M into trays (begonias and petunias), pricked out roughly 120 F. Begonia Boliviensis, and then opened the heated propagator and nearly had a fit! I am utterly disgusted with myself - I sowed various tomato seeds, and apparently put too much water into the propagator; the seeds have germinated, well some of them have, but the heat, humidity and slight lack of light has sent them into the leggiest wee spindly things I have seen. :wallbanging:

Although they are very young yet (only a week or so really), I have oiked them out and popped them deep into cellular trays and whacked them into the grow cupboard under the lights. Fingers crossed they pull through. Oddly enough, of all the varieties that were in the trays, the Manx Marvels were the best of the bunch, given my stupidity.

I also moved on around 80 Malope Vulcan's, as they were getting a wee bit on the leggy side also.

By the way, who should I contact to have the name of Begonia Boliviensis corrected?

Fed up and frustrated as still suffering back pain and can't get on with what I need to do to replace fence. Mrs W's been a star and has tried to do some of it but I just don't like to see her doing heavy stuff that I ought to be doing.

You can't take risks with a dodgy back Dave, it needs time to heal. You may be feeling guilty but I'm sure Mrs. W knows her limitations and wouldn't try to help if she thought it was beyond her. I hope your back gets better soon. :)
