Many years ago, I was sent to repossess a rental TV that the customers hadn't paid a penny for in months. I went into the living room, and all that was in there was two chairs, a sofa and the TV - no carpet, no curtains, now't; there was, however, a tree trunk lying across the floor with one end in the fire place, and as it burned away, a foot was lifted to push this tree trunk further into the fire place!

The worst one I had was another rental repo, and when I got there the house was in a hell of a state - not the cleanest, and as messy as you could imagine. However, there were five wee kids (probably all under the age of 10 at a guess) who all burst into floods of tears when I had to take the telly away.

I ended up back in that house later in the evening, as those wee kiddies tugged at my heart strings - I went home and fixed up a TV that I had as one of my 'loaners' (when people had theirs in for repair), and took it to the house and gave them it. It was quite clear that the family didn't have a shilling to their name, and I just couldn't be that cruel.

Ach, its a clean hose and its only a wee bit of cold water - all the shelves have mats below them anyway, so nothing to harm.

@Kristen Blimey they're bright K, looks just like daytime! ;)

You could always have a very early present instead of a late evening one...

Sounds a promising pressie - good thinking:)

              Sowed:

5 x trays of Dahlia Pompon
3 x trays of Dahlia Showcase (the second phase of dahlias this year)
              1 x tray celeriac
1 x tray of brussels sprouts

Shuffled a few things around to make space, then realised I have got a MASSIVE amount of pricking out and potting on to do. Had no option but to shift the dahlias I have coming from tubers into the greenhouse (actually hoping it will slow the blighters down a bit as they are standing nearly 12" already!)

Not much today as it was raining when I got home.
But a wake up call at 6am from little Mowgley to tell me that the sunflowers have germinated!

:heehee: You're daft as a brush mate, here's a photo that was actually taken in the daytime

                  and the original :)

                  IMG_2721_CentreCourtLights.jpg

all I can say is that you had to be there! I'll have another go at a better shot another time.

Perhaps a photographer can suggest how to improve it? I set 400 ASA, jacked the F-stop up to lengthen the shutter speed (couldn't be bothered to put it on Self Timer, camera was stood on some breeze blocks - so it might have got knocked as I pressed the shutter, but shutter speed was 1" I think).

Anyways, there are 6 yews on each side which are well illuminated, but only the light from the first three has been captured. I wonder if there was something in front of the lens obscuring the view? Camera was a lot lower than my standing position, and might have been something out there in the dark that I didn't spot ... ??

I am sowing most things in little plastic zip-lock bags of damp vermiculite. Each day I check for signs of roots ... and any that have roots have to be "pricked out" that day - not uncommon to have 10 bags to do on any given day ... latest stint so far is close to 3am ... lets hope the whole of the rest of them don't decide to germinate tomorrow!

Try the ASA at 800 and depending on the depth of the darkness try a 2 second shot, have a look at it and lengthen the shutter speed if needed until you get the shot you want.... after checking that the aperture is fully open:snork:

Is that the lights of a 777 I see in the top centre????:snork:

Finished rearranging garage, shelving, sweeping and generally decluttering. Burning waste wood (awesome as always) , cut the grass, took some pics, chilled in front of chiminea and had a cold one:)

Pricked out half a tray of antirrhinum seedlings - only got half done as they are so blimmin' fiddly! If half of them survive it will be a miracle.
