More pricking out and potting on. Seriously running out of space. I've put some stuff in the blow away but I'll be bringing it in for the night. Noticed that the rocket spuds have made an appearance :dancy: and my tulips are in full swing. :hapydancsmil:

My geranium plugs arrived from gardening direct, quite surprised not in that bad condition although a little small.
Packaging not the best, seed tray not secure in the box but they have placed packing air bags to fill the void.
Anyway potted on around 70 geraniums, another 50 dwarf dahlias, amarantus early splendour.
Potted on some more cannas and a hedychuim
I'm seriously running out of space in the GH

My original plan was to sort out the greenhouse to get it into service, as it is needed - now! I have plants all over the place to the point where we now daren't pot anything else on as there is simply nowhere for it to go.

Anyway, the original plan failed when I got home from work and decided to cut the grass before the rain at the weekend - I am on a double shift tomorrow, so no hope of getting it done then, and Sunday is forecast to be wet all day. I cut one side, and despite a few 'passes' with the lawnmower, I was still getting the mower bunging up with goodness knows what so I decided to get the scarifier out. Not so sure now that I haven't gone to far?

This (below) is the un-scarified side, showing my 'problem' area under the trampoline. In fairness, there is more grass there than I initially thought, but its still not great. I think I am going to get one side more or less sorted before starting on the other side?

Half-way through, the doorbell went, a delivery!

        2014-04-04 16.03.22.jpg

Hmmmmmm....... Do you think I need to make some contingency plans in case I run out??

And whilst out there, I spotted what I think might be flower buds forming on my honeysuckle?

        2014-04-04 15.58.37.jpg

Be nice if they are, as I haven't had flowers from it yet.

I didn't managed to get into the Green House until 2.30pm but I've managed to pot on 72 Sweet Peas, 72 Centaurea of different colours, 46 Echinacea, plant 9 Dahlias into pots, and note that I've got about 30 or so Dahlia "Bishops Children" seedlings to pot on tomorrow. I've also managed to dead head most of the few hundred dwarf Narcissus that have started to finish flowering in the pots and borders but there's still a lot to do.:snork::coffee:

I had a lot of other jobs to do today so i just ran in the GH checked on the watering situation and ran out again before all those little green things started shouting at me:runforhills:

So far, I have trimmed the conifer hedge, cut the grass, done the grass edges, tidied the window border, raked over the new borders again (still having loads of large stones surfacing) 1 more good rake and it will be ready for some compost and then a few seed beds. I will have seed raised plants to go in too in a few weeks. Gave the window border plants their first feed of the season now they are all springing into life, with my own compost tea brew.

Just having a quick brew myself, then going into the back garden to do some planting up, sow a seed bed or two.

I've been quite busy this week. Planted loads of shrubs and perennials, potted on a load of plug plants, dug out about 400 Spanish bluebells and gave 200 to a friend and binned the rest, cut down and burnt dead trees and shrubs, been cutting and shaping more of the lawn edges (gradually getting there :heehee:) and done a lot of digging, weeding and composting.

I cut 4ft all round off this

                  2ft all round off this
                  P1200110.JPG

Clearing up took as long as the cutting did!

I've dug, weeded and composted four areas like these
                  P1200103.JPG

                  and started planting them out

                  @Kristen
the bed above now has two of your large clumps of Aquilegias in it because we lost a couple of hundred (all of them) from this bed last winter. We also lost about 1,000 of them from the bed by the road!

Before digging, those areas above looked similar to these
                  P1200106.JPG

                  P1200107.JPG

I've still got to work my way through these :hate-shocked:

Mixed up a good sized batch of home made potting compost, made enough to fill two large plastic dustbins and still had half a barrow load to spare. :)

Spent the rest of the day sorting out all the large pots and containers. All weeded, topped up, fed, pruned and moved around as required.

Pak Choi, Kale and Spinach planted out (with not much help from the chickens!) . More Cauli's, Calabrese, Cabbage and some Lettuce sown in the greenhouse, oh, and some Sweetcorn too. More Courgettes and some Cucumber gone into the heated propagator. All raised beds have been netted to counter said chickens and the prolific pigeon population.

Expecting rain tomorrow so a greenhouse day potting on my giant tomatoes, onions and curcubits.

Ooops, sown my climbing french beans and runner beans too!

Today I potted on the rest of my beans (sown too early, I know...) and peas. They're strong and happy, the French beans 'Lake' I ordered off amazon are all doing really well, but I only managed to salvage one of my mouldy runner beans 'Prizewinner', because as I said, I got crazy and sowed them too soon, but look what a big strong plant it has become.

Got some poplar logs for my oyster mushroom farm. Moved the gooseberry from the bed to a container because I decided it's not good to waste all the sunny space on berries. And it's blooming! I don't know why or how because it's such an unhappy little thing. The leaves feel so weak. I don't know what I'm doing wrong with it, maybe that's just how it is, or maybe it didn't like being moved.

Now I've got loads of thinning out to do for the next couple of days... I also went a bit crazy with the butterhead lettuce.. like all my seedlings, it's getting too leggy :(

When you get to trim the variegated box I'd like to have the "Bits" please :)

Plus I could do with some more of the "white" Euonymous clippings - I have more of the "Yellow" at present, and although not decided on a design for the plants my best guess is that it will use up about 50:50 :) The parterre could possibly be based on a Celtic knot e.g.:
