Seedlings as mentioned earlier potted into 3" pots. Ran out of light, so the Gallardia will have to wait until tomorrow.

This is the cold frame I fashioned out of some old block paving and some double glazing units that were going spare at work..... will do a job until I gets me greenhouse. And still have my wooden box to complete. :blue thumb:

Oh and it is toughened glass, so my furry babies will be quite safe.

      Fantastic :)

WHAT? Blinking short-changed or what? :heehee:

I trust the target practice was not a prelude to the watering method for the greenhouse?!!

Not coated glass is it? I figure that might not let through some parts of the light spectrum that the plants might need.

New Years Resolution was to properly wage war on Bindweed in the herbaceous border this year - its now emerged just an inch or two and I have started on a routine patrol with Roundup. Got Herbicide-Happy and did the gravel paths, the (outer) edges of the raised beds, the back of the borders where there-is-nothing-of-any-merit, the front-edge of the hedges and some other bits that I have forgotten already.

Bound to have been some collateral damage :(

Nope, clear glass, only toughened. Made sure of that.

Thanks for drawing attention to it tho' if anyone else was to try the idea, that is important to know.

I got the sieve out and riddled half a bag of MPC + JI No2, mixed in some vermiculite and have it in a special bag for pricking out seedlings.
Dug a hole for the Tiarella "Iron Butterfly" and popped her in.
Removed all the mini daffs from the front window boxes and a square planter. They've done 3 years but are destined for the tip now as they weren't spectacular this year. Time for new ones in the Autumn. Then pricked out 48 tomato seedlings and 8 salad leaf seedlings.
'Twas a lovely, lovely day to be at one with the garden,
              Jenny

Gave two of the lawns their first cut. Laid 20 square metres of black plastic over the tattie bed to warm it up and bring up weeds before sowing my main crop in about 10 days time.
Sprayed one of the apple trees against scab. Decanted about 50 litres of concentrated comfrey fertiliser that's been soaking over winter into smaller containers and fed the early tatties and plum tree with it (diluted).

I feel really sorry for you!

Did more digging and weeding, some more pressure hosing and lawn edging. Fixed a proper support (well, bodged one) for one of the shelves in the greenhouse as I've been meaning to do it since 1976 :heehee:. Transferred twelve trays to the shelf to make more room on the ground and didn't seem to have any more room

Dunno where to start today - might just have a general tidy up and sweep everything because I want to jet wash the patio/drive tomorrow which takes about 4 hours.

If you feel you've really got into jet washing and want a little more to do, then you can come and spend 48 hours doing ours :blue thumb:. It's best to do it before they bring in a hosepipe ban.
