Checking plants,watering,staring and wrapping them all up...frost on the cards again tonight

 

I didn't think there was a jab for Chicken Pox Armandii, I may be wrong though.

 

Thanks Armandii. I was thinking of childhood jabs as my grand-daughter has recently had Chicken Pox.

 

Putting the garden swing seat up and tidying the pebble pool today.
It will soon be ,sunny days + garden + cold beer =

 

After I have run my errands this morning, I am planning to make the lid for my wooden coldframe, also give it a coat or two of stain. Sow some more seeds, and do some planting out of stuff from last year, that are in 3" pots.

 

Our oldest, then 2, got it when we were on holiday in USA. Dunno if they have Calamine lotion over there, but they prescribed Milk of Magnesia instead. Dried everything up well ... so might be worth a try alongside Calamine lotion perhaps?

 

Had an accident with my Commelina seedlings when I was pricking them out. I dropped the pot trying to get them out and they landed upside down. Tried to save a couple of them but looking at them yesterday, they don't look too good so this morning I've resown a few. I don't know if I'm too late but I thought it worth a try. I'm obviously a "butter fingered" beginner!

A friend kindly brought me a Clematis and a Honeysuckle so today I'll be planting them in a suitable spot.

I've also got to go to Plan B regarding a tower pot I ordered which turned up over a month late from T&M. The climbers I thought I could grow in it won't suit it - well I'm pretty sure they wont! I'm sharing the bedroom with potted up "triffids" which are winding their way up the cane supports and if I'm not careful, they're going to be touching the ceiling before they're ready to go outside. I'm now thinking of direct sowing some sweet peas in this tower pot instead!

Well that concludes the trials and tribulations of the novice for the day - but hey, it's all good fun and a learning experience.

 

Weeding Bittercress and I've never known the seeds fly so far as they're doing now. If I didn't wear specs I'd have to wear goggles.
