Potted on odds and ends of seedlings and then planted on loads of Nicotiana, ten six cell trays, I really don't need that many!

There is always room for one (or ten trays) more in a garden Sheal! Plants are like your kids friends coming to stay - you squash them in somewhere! lol!
Just think of all that glorious scent in the summer evenings!

I like your thinking Adendoll :) but apart from a rose bed I only have two other beds in my gardens and no borders, my greenhouse is full of other young plants as well that will need planting out. I think there might be a car boot sale on the horizon. :heehee:

Most plants sell like hot cakes at the islands boot sales as there are very few people that sell them. The nurseries and garden centres here are not cheap to buy from either.

Today, I will be playing with my new toy :hapydancsmil:

The order I placed for the Bosch Rotak 42 was cancelled (apparently, no date for stock coming in), so I took myself off to Homebase this morning and took advantage of their 15% off and triple nectar points and bought one of these.

I have assembled it in the time it took Mrs C to make a sandwich and a brew, and hope to have the grass cut before much longer. :yay:

Let me know how you get on with it FC, I've been looking at those myself :blue thumb:

So far today I've re-done the wall trough, potted up a Prunus sapling and a Cotinus Grace, done one of my hanging baskets with Fuchsias and attached the trellis I painted yesterday to the garage (and the Roses to the trellis).

Have not yet done any !

Family demands have kept me away from home until half an hour ago. I did get to get in a very quick visit to a recommended nursery, came away with 3 first year perennials for £4.50....

Just having a cuppa, then get changed and get out there :dbgrtmb:

Look no more! What a cracker of a machine. The old lawnmower used to take me about 90 mins to two hours including time to pick up anything it had missed.

For 20 minutes today I went for a stroll up and down my garden, and just happened to have a lawnmower in front of me.

Nothing left to pick up, nice neat cut and stripes too.

Best lawnmower I have used, bar none!

Better still, with the time I saved I aerated one of the two lawns, sprinkled a liberal dressing of compost, followed by Growsure four day germination (allegedly) grass seed, which I gave a light rolling in (cheated and used the back roller on the lawnmower) and then a liberal sprinkling of chicken manure pellets. The sprinkler is now doing its thing

                              Friday & Saturday

retreated my cedar greenhouse so all looks brand new, clear preservative I know its cedar but the parts that hold the glass in are soft wood !!! , power washed the decking Friday and gave it a coat of preservative (clear) treated that today didnt take that long I used a pair of slippers that sat on each knee made it quite comfy to do :snork: ones that I had for Christmas that are like walking on a big sponge

Planted up both 16 inch baskets, liner 1st then a small bowl which had 4 teaspoons of swell gel and 4 of slow release fertilizer added to sit in the bottom to act as a reservoir.

Mixed up my own compost , 4 x john innes no2 2 x Multiurpose , 4 inch pot of vermiculite and a 4 inch pot of perlite , one of each into the mix then two teaspoons of swell gel and another two teaspoons of slow release , all given a through mix , to be honest it felt and looked really good.

Plants for each basket is a mixture of:

                              Lobelia Richardii
                              Petunia Surfinia Picotee Blue
Verbena Rapunzel Red - (new one for me )
Begonia Crackling Fire Creamy Yellow - (new colour to me )

all had a good water and will stay in the greenhouse until May and I will wait to see how warm it gets before they go out permanent.

                              got all the above from
http://www.nemesia.co.uk/ plants top notch well packed and I thought a good price for the amount I needed

                              Fuchsia Cecile
                              Fuchsia Heri Mochara
Used two of each, so lots over I will make two more baskets for the back garden.

Thats about it for today, done too much over the past two days but the weather is about to turn so you are probably like me just have to make the most of it when you can

I ordered a skip for this weekend, so today I cleared the garage as I could just about get through the door. Then I have cleared all the rubbish from the patio, that I have dumped there whilst redoing the floors an skirting downstairs and dumped the old bathroom suite. After that I have started to dig out the chicken run to lay the slabs. Took 30 odd barrows out and probably got another 20 or so to take out. I've had enough today I am knackered. Start again in the morning.
