I'll be tidying the rockery up today, Reggie's been on and trampled a lot of plants & there are a few weeds on there. I want to clear off some plants I'm not quite happy with & get some new plants in the week, to give a bit more colour. The previous occupants went for a more alpine look which although covers it well, is a little samey

Well that's done! Arms now covered in sudocrem after cutting back one of those evil grasses that slices... Didn't think ahead with that one when I chose to wear a sleeveless top...! The rockery looks a lot better now, a little bare but ready for some new plants :)

Damn! Now where did I put the carrot seeds? I know I put them out ready to sow, and I'm sure I didn't do it - hopefully I haven't left the packet out in the rain? :(

Dug up a self planter foxglove in a silly spot and put it into the sensible spot = the side border. Potted on a geranium cutting that overwintered in the bathroom - time to go out into the BIG O now.
Put @moyra's macramé pot up to see how the Oxalis will look. I think it will do the job perfectly . Thank you Moira,

I have even forgotton to finish my message to Ellen! Lol!
Was going to say I know the feeling - My workmates thought I was self harming through gardening!
So I sympathise I think we need a PPE check list by the garden tools!

It does look like self harm doesn't it?! Or that I've gone 10 rounds with the cat at claw-trimming time!

I've gone and done it now - I planted my Bomarea edulis out in the garden permanently! This involve digging a hole almost a metre deep and cutting through some big Mock Orange roots.

                    General weeding and planting out.

Well, I went out with the intention of moving my strawberries into their new home and then getting my carrots sown, but sort of got sidelined - and I reckon that I did something that nobody else would be doing in the garden today.............. I pressure washed the lawn.

I started off by watering stuff in the greenhouse, then decided to see if I could get the 5ft high trunk and rootball of the fallen buddleia finally out and away. I initially attacked it with my trusty spade, which let me dig out around the rootball to get to the few big roots that remained holding the thing in. Once I got far enough in, I got the saw in to cut through the roots and managed to get the thing free, however try as I might I couldn't get it to budge far as it was properly heavy.

After swinging on it for a while, knocking my back out, I decided that it had to lose weight. Mrs C came to the rescue with a cuppa and strong painkillers to let me get enough peace to carry on, so I then went at it with the saw and cut it down a bit more. Then it was more swinging on the trunk to release it, before I was finally able to 'roll' it out of the border and it was free.

However, it was still too heavy to handle, and despite best efforts, I couldn't get through the trunk as my saw was too small (multiple trunks at one time, all fused together); then I hit on an idea to remove some weight - pressure wash the soil off the rootball, and then saw through the roots! And that is exactly what I did.

Once the roots were cut off in various chunks, I was then able to 'walk' the remaining trunk up the patio and it is currently propped up in a corner awaiting me having the time and inclination (and assistance) to load it in the car and have it away to the tip.

The pressure washing of the rootball left a hell of a mess on the grass, so I pressure washed the lawn back into the border :heehee:

After a bit of tidying up, I quit for the day knowing that I have done some damage to my back, and as I write I am awaiting the pending seizure - tomorrow morning's return to work will be fun.

As a fellow depression sufferer I can relate to the fits of pique that he has. He is a Marmite personality though and I fall into the love him camp. I'm not sure that switching to playing left handed qualifies as arrogant though as I do it too when I play pool - sometimes it's easier and it's good practise too.
For the true definition of arrogance (in the snooker world) look no further than the young Steve Davis and Stephen Hendry up until he started losing a bit more often.

I agree that the lad has his problems - I too know only too well the realities of depression and anxiety, but there is just something about him that puts me on my back foot. Not a massive fan of Steve Davis either, as he always comes across as a very closed book; Hendry on the other hand, I actually quite like, at least in the way he plays - although I am less than impressed at recent reports as to how he has treated his family.

@Jenny namaste - I am paying for it a bit now, oddly in my shoulders which I didn't expect. Mrs C is keeping the Bacardi rolling which is a good anaesthetic. I am sat watching the snooker on the red button at the moment, and promise I will head for the hay soon. :snooze:
