What Jobs are we doing in the Garden today 2014..

I made one for my metal shed (will take photo and post it later) and made some hanging racks for tools.

They're rubbish construction as I'm useless at DIY but they have worked well for years.

Here's the rack


I put small blocks of wood behind the upright struts, screwed long batons to the blocks and though that would be sufficient. I then realised that the tools would hang better if the batons were further from the wall. so I just screwed another baton to the original one.

 

Just finished the new fence panels just got to stain them now

This is the simple ramp I mad for myself.


I put a small lip on the inside of the metal frame, screwed to the floor and butting up to the frame and slightly higher



The ramp overlaps the metal frame, resting on it


And then gets pushed forward until it buts up to the lip on the inside.




It's supported all the way across, at every level, so that it spreads the load.

 

Thanks @shiney - I will come back to those pics when I get to the stage of making a ramp. First, I have to get the thing water tight.

There was one hell of a heavy shower this afternoon (properly throwing it down) and I now have a puddle inside the shed. It appears that the water was coming off the roof in copious amounts, falling onto the edge of the base and then running underneath the frame into the shed. So, I definitely need to screw it down and seal it inside and out with silicone.

EDIT - on a brighter note, there was only two tiny wee drips on the inside of the roof, so its not going to need much to fettle that

 

Our shed's metal framework was screwed onto the paving slabs. We then sealed ours on the inside (and outside) of the framework before laying the marine ply tight up against the metal frame.

Never had any trouble with water getting in.
