Thanks for the tip. - as I will pull up the poles at the end of the season though they might not be too well established !

The trouble with my brain Alex is that hazel bean poles immediately makes me think of the famous 80's singer Hazel Dean (Searchin' (I Gotta Find A Man). There probably isn't much call for her nowadays either.

        Now the eerie bit.

Her real name is Hazel Dean Poole, which now makes me think of hazel bean poles.

Remember, you heard it here first!

              Lol!!

Hubby bought me a planting trough for Easter (chocolate, man, Chocolate!!). As we didn't want pale raw pine colour, we went through our old wood stains, and guess what colour we found? image.jpg We call it "Groundforce Blue"! (Decided to only do one coat, as it is supposed to be treated wood anyway, and thought it was bright enough with just the one coat!)

I didn't get much done at the weekend, as we went to visit friends. Caught up a little yesterday, as I cut back the sycamore saplings that are growing along the boundary below the lopped laylandii, trimmed our side of the top fence laurel, (caught neighbours dogs that were running loose in the street again), tidied the larger wisteria, that is about to flower :hapydancsmil:,weeded the eye bed, and pulled up a large trug full of dandelions from part of the "lawn". Oh, and got a fleece on the lemon tree that has just been moved outside!

Today, I hope to finish the corner of the laurel hedge trimming, mow the prunings, along with the rest of the grass, pot on the young tomato plants, that really want to go outside, and maybe some more dandelions?:rolleyespink:

Did lots of mowing yesterday and then had a big bonfire.

I'll not get a lot done today as I'm out for most of it. All I'll do is spend a couple of hours rhubarb picking and packing. Lots of orders for this afternoon. :blue thumb:

I've done a bit more pricking out but I doubt I'll be doing anything outside. It's far too windy, the cold is biting and I've just been pelted with hail stones. :rolleyespink:

Hehe its a good colour. Is it cuprinols barleywood as well?

I would do two coats to be honest anyway. My first coat on my water feature lasted a year at best without another coat on it so i regret not putting two on in the first place so doing that now.

From putting down my daughter to sitting back down to work, I went into the boiling greenhouse and sowed a tray of dwarf green kale and a tray of peas for the allotment! When I have an afternoon break I'm going to pot up another couple of Dahlia tubers I bought this morning, Bishop of Llandaff which are my favourite by a country mile :)

Just a bit of watering and checking on seedlings today - the cosmos sown at the weekend has already started to germinate - not bad for just over 48 hours! Oh, and the nappy filler added to compost seems to work, as more of those have germinated than in just the plain compost
