Hope you're feeling better soon Capney:thumbsup:

I've planted out a couple of Rodgersias (love 'em) Kniphofia 'Tawny King',Heleniums, and echinaceas all have to have the chicken wire protection while they settle in:chicken:...Mulched my Rhodys ,spread some FYM on my veg patch and the left overs of one of my compost bins, put bean netting up.Tied in my Rasps and Mulched them up to their shins, turned other compost bin, it's looking scrumptious already:wub2:given up now ,it's too hot to work in:rolleyespink:...

            Hi All,

Stayed dry all day I think just about to start raining.

All the lawns cut , the new bergenia border (I have made wider less lawn again ) in the front garden I have added 3 Kniphofia

            Buttercup
            Ice queen
            Barton Fever

I also have Strawberries & Cream but growing on in pots in the greenhouse probably put out next spring as they are really small and I coudnt see them getting through the winter
plus a couple of daylilys, nothing else perennial going in and I will in fill with annuals.

Trimmed my golden privet its a year old now, has replaced the bamboo as it decided to grow into next door garden :hate-shocked: as along the gravel edge on the patio next to his house wall :yikes: 12 feet away !!! :hate-shocked: be warned

Potter about now that takes age to do :coffee:

1 dry day out of 3 not bad for the BH

lifted & split the Rhubarb that I planted in the wrong place four years ago & had gotten huge - three nice crowns so Ive given one away & replanted the other two somewhere where its not going to get in the way quite so much.

Broke my posh spade in the process - its been creaking for a while & finally gave up - that was a moving in present 20 years ago so it gives me a chance to pop down the hardware shop & make the 'Four Candles' joke.

Planted a standard rose & some marigolds in its place

.. I fully expect the slugs to have removed those by tomorrow..

Started splitting the cannas & potted two on with some summer bedding.

Raining now & didnt get a chance to put the first batch of runners out on the mini-shiney-frame

Lots of sowing, almost finished the roofing over the runner bean ShineyFrames (used up a 100 metre roll of nylon string and have to get more so I can finish it), did a wheelie bin full of weeding (mainly buttercups, dandelions, strawberry weed, bindweed and couch grass) and two hours of mowing. :old: :phew:

Glad I had a productive day in the garden yesterday (bug hotel finished with small sticks in the gaps between the half-rotten silver birch logs, grass cut, with the blades lowered one notch next to the patio, a coppiced hazel taken down to stump level again - think it will have to come out, and the grass edges done).

Today all I have done is put the washing out first thing. Then 10 mins later when the first thunderstorm with thunder, lightening and torrential rain had passed over, ran out and got the "rinsed" washing back in again, before the next storm arrived....
