The greenhouse cucumbers have a lot of small fruit, and soon it will be pickling time. They have reached the top of the side support, so today I ran bailing twine to the peak of the greenhouse to keep them going.

I've been dodging showers during the day, so have spent most of it in the greenhouse potting up my planters for the patio.

Thank you @Jenny namaste I'm trying to inject some colour onto the patio, as it's all looking rather drab at the moment. xx

Yesterday was just a little pottering in the garden, weeding, tying in new growth, rubbing out tomato side-shoots, and ...

            ... Drum Roll ...

            ... Picking our first courgette!!

Just come in from spending the morning out in my little front and back gardens. It's amazing how that works when the sun comes out! All the daffs cut down and weeding done. Front lawn cut and edged. I had our friendly blackbird helping me for most of the time.

Planted an Aspidistra and a Heliotrope, as permanent additions to side border.

Also cut back a Cordyline who had it's leaves weighed down by hail last winter.

Pulled out buckets of Ash seedlings from the borders, boring, repetitive but wonderfully satisfying!
Can't stand up straight yet though :)

Made up a hanging basket comprising of mainly trailing begonias about 12 good sized corms as an experiment, might look great or might look rubbish with rotted corms ?
Made a small fruit cage to protect the blueberries from bits of previously mashed up blowawy greenhouse.
And cleaned out half of the pond so I can now see my fish again, cool theyre alive.

Sorted all the pots & tubs on the patio, so that'll have some colour injected into it for the Summer months.. :fingers crossed:

Cleared some tiny bramble shoots that were coming back on my cleared patch of garden (grrrrr) but still couldn't find all of the roots, so I'll see them again soon. I also started clearing the edges of the drive which were covered in a horrible matted layer of rotted leaves from the hedge, tiny roots, bits of grass and weeds and twigs all mulched into a grippy mat that didn't want to go. I think I cleared about 2 metres by 1 metre and it took hours. There is another 5 (?) metres x 1 metre to go. Hopefully my gardening future will involve some nice plants in a proper border at some point! This bit is really depressing! Though it was a nice surprise to find the drive does have proper edging under the hedge. I haven't seen that for about 10 years :heehee:
