(Bind) weeding; (bind) weeding and yet more (bind) weeding.

Yes, before anyone else says it: it *is* a bind! :th scifD36:

      Bless you!
I thought about doing op some of the heavy work, but the ganglion (sp?) hurts even if I put my hand down to push myself up, so I've limited myself to weeding the drive. That I can do with one and a half hands! Looks good too, where I've been

I am SO glad to be finished this task which took me way too long to complete! Decided to take the veggie plot all the way to the pond. Hmmm didn't look that big a task before I started.

Took the turf off the other day up to the pond dwarf wall.

Marked the paths with string, dug over ready for compost and manure.

        IMG_4226.JPG

Five new end bits now planted up. At the wall (you can't see this bit) I've planted broad beans (Stereo). Then comes various varieties of lettuce which I grew in modules - will be doing that again. The bare bit has three row of coriander seed and some green sticks - these are bergamot cuttings. Then more lettuce and finally (again out of view) more bergamot cuttings and three melons. I dug a trench and filled it with manure then planted the melons in that. I have melon 'experiments' going on all over the garden. Last year I grew melons the size of golf balls determined to do better this year.

Oh I've had one of those ... apparently, generations back (pre-free healthcare) it was traditional to whack it with the big, heavy, family bible to disperse it
I was told that it can disappear on its own, but that didn't happen with mine and it had to be "dealt with" :th scifD36: :heehee:
Well done on getting your weeding done (but do go and get your ganglion sorted :grphg: ).

Spent most of yesterday digging out all the plants in the front garden, digging over and improving the and replanting it all again. Soil was so dry!

My house is new build and front garden is very small. When we moved in, it was pretty much gravel on top of builders rubble with a couple of shrubs! I must be in a minority of people who tale up the gravel to put plants in, it's normally the other way round!!

Found some path edging that's been piled up behind the shed so thought I'd get rid of it on a little path that goes 'up to the back'...the chooks like to scatter the soil everywhere and I'm fed up of sweeoing up:rolleyespink: it's not a great barrier but it looks better:blue thumb:

                          That looks lovely @Lolimac

Just pruned the hedge with some secateurs, just to get rid of the odd shoots that have decided to grow much quicker thant the rest of it

And it's all looking very nice too! Good work

Lovely job you did there Loli

Today was plant up some more plants; move eyesore at rear fence to a different place that's not so in-yer-face; checked the salad bar and the lettuces are now sprouting nicely; moved some furniture around on the patio, didn't like it, so moved it back again  Took all the odds and ends of seed packets, mixed the seeds with sand and then scattered them over a bare patch. Their fate is in the lap of the Gods now.

More (bind) weeding and a bit of watering and now I'm calling it a day (been out there since 0930hrs  ) :phew:

Just cut out the growing shoots of the Dahlia I (incredibly stupidly) sprayed a bit with Glyphosate. Although I rinsed it thoroughly, there looked to be some signs of it getting in with the new shoots being a very pale yellow and distorted. The rest of the plant is growing strongly however, so I followed the RHS guidance to remove the bits showing damage. I'm guessing that as it's translocated, it's moved to the growing tips, so by removing them, it's the only way to get the glyphosate out of the plant's system.

I can happily report however, that all other Dahlias are growing like the clappers.
