been out and hosed the borders and the patio (daily bird poo ) then filled all the drip trays for pots and containers with hose water. Gonna feed the toms and containers with half dose Tomorite before the sun comes round -and then dead head the roses. Then pot on 2 Frank Hedley geraniums that are potbound,
      Jenny

I did my gardening from 4.30 a.m. Now's the time to relax and take it easy. I might potter around the garden with the camera. :blue thumb:

I've managed to water the pots, baskets, greenhouse & hang out the washing, I think that's enough for now! :phew:
Time for another shower (second of the day!) then I'd better go to work :yikes:
Have a lovely day everyone :ccheers:

I pulled away the ivy growing on the wall, above my outdoor sink, since it was making its way to the window of the tenant above. I was careful not to disturb the nest in there somewhere where I have seen mummy and daddy robin frequently fly in with beaks laden with small worms.

I was delighted to see some sweet peas crop up where I thought I had mistakingly uprooted them! So I provided them with stakes. They will look pretty once flowering beside my bare, slanting rose branch, that I have covered with a rainbow. Will take a photo of it! [IMG]

I've just come in from an hour of watering the greenhouse, baskets, pots and nursery areas with a hose :hate-shocked: :phew:. I was going to wander round and take photos but I'm too hot.

Just done around 4hrs in the garden and it needed the attention. Did some weeding, tying in, feeding, dead heading and general tidying and brushing up. Also did plenty of watering in case the storms up north don't produce the quantities of rain the Met Office are predicting.

I've been doing some fiddly hand sewing outdoors. Virtually no breeze so the work stayed in place as I worked. The air is absolutely delicious today. Also drinking lots of water,

I harvested another courgette (fortunately today's bible study members were more than willing to help with my surplus :)), some mangetout and some asparagus peas. Restaked the mangetout so they weren't sitting on top of my French beans. Pinched out the side shoots of the harbinger and gardeners delight tomatoes, and tied them in again, restaking with longer stakes where necessary. Tied in other tomatoes (tumbling toms), and generally looked around the garden, before it got too hot.

We are now all hiding from the sun indoors. 34 degrees outside, and a mere 28 degrees inside!!

Later, when it's cooler, I will need to feed my toms, courgettes, chillies and lemon tree. But not for a few hours!!
