It just comes with time. It's like anything else..... Some people are good remembering cars, others perhaps birds or dogs.

I can remember individual plants names as I buy them but when the plants are bought en masse I refer to the names each time I look at them, it eventually penetrates the sawdust that forms my brain and stays there. I bought nine roses in one go and they're all in the same bed, remembering there names took some while. :)

I have a lot of potted plants. In a folder I write down the name of the plant, the type of pot (to identify it), when it was potted and how much soil was under the roots (how many inches). Saves on a lot of guesswork.

Also, since various plants need ericaceous feeds, I draw a diagram of where the plants are so it is easier for me to feed them altogether.

Hey, rosebay, I do much the same but then forget to move the labels when I repot plants. I'm getting better at it though and will master it in time. Still trying to master potting on with the right size pots. (I blame this forum) then drop the labels and forget to replace them. I then look at all the seed packets and labels to match the photo on packet with the plant I'm looking at. Now where did I leave that label? Ho hum.

Didn't do a lot yesterday. Picked beans, apples, plums courgettes and blackberries. Mrs Shiney did all the hard cutting back :heehee:

In the evening I had a giant bonfire. It's probably still burning but can't see it from the house.
