I've had a break from sport and have moved some heavy planters out of the back garden to the front. My neighbour's son is having them so he's moved them to his. So much space on the drive now, but there are other plants elsewhere that will be relocated there. It's only supposed to be 22 degrees but feels much warmer.

I'm exhausted :phew:  but all the panels are cleaned. I do not wish to be so close to mould, dead spiders, feathers (?!), fossilised moss, bird poo, wax drips (?!?!) or unidentified dirt again! :heehee:

I've watered all my pots outside in the rain today and checked over and watered 170 young winter pansies that are currently growing in cell trays. I moved them to the carport a few days ago because the weather is bad here again.

Did the big end of summer pond clean out today.Saw loads of newts caught up in the weed thankfully no small fish. Will leave it out by the side of the pond for a few days so they can get back I to the pond again.

Gave the beech hedge a good pruning . Summer rasps will be getting chopped out tomorrow. ALL GOOD. :)

Yesterday I managed to do a bit of gardening here at mum's. Dead-headed one of the budlieas, and the lambs ears, and tidied up the tomatoes (mum doesn't remember to take out the side shoots). Then in the afternoon, I went to Wyevale to look at the half price seeds, and discovered that most, if not all, of the garden plants were half price. I would have happily spent hours looking through for stuff to take home, but mum, who had insisted that she wanted to come along, had been saying "will you be much longer?" after just 2 minutes of looking at the seeds.....

The plan this morning is to go back to Wyevale. I will do my best to insist that Mum doesn't come with me this time ....

Not to far from me then as the crow flies. :) I agree the weather has been terrible. The island is struggling to stage the Motorcycle Grand Prix at the moment, currently in practice week and just two shortened sessions since last Saturday because of rain. If the practice doesn't happen there'll be no racing next week.

Yesterday I managed to cut the grass, and mow the trimmings from cutting the hedge on Tuesday. Also picked another kilo or so of tomatoes....

Today, I will be pulling out my mangetout peas and courgette plant, which have both given up the ghost. But heavy rain forecast from 11am onwards, so I think the rest of the day will be planning with my box of seeds, in the dry!

Didn't do a lot out there yesterday because of the lovely rain. Inbetween downpours I popped out and picked beans (12lb runners and 5lb French), picked up 30lb of windfall cookers and wandered round the garden for a chat with the plants.
