    :hate-shocked:

Are the chillies outside? If not, then they should be fruiting for months yet!

That looks gorgeous, @shiney! I think I will be scouring the garden centres for one when I next come over. We don't have quite the same strength of winds as @Sheal, but they are still mighty powerful!

Today we will be cutting the boundary hedge between us and the road, but certainly not low enough to please one of our neighbours... So we will then be retreating inside and hiding!!

yes there outside, only started them a few months ago from seed, just wanted to get some growing experience in this year for my 1st proper go at it next spring, with my new shiny raised beds ill have by then, so excited :)

main reason i want to get rid of my current plants is to make space for me to turn over the area where my raised beds are going to mix in some sharp sand as drainage is not the greatest

This morning was some weeding and topping up the compost piles. This evening I will likely plant some Saffron.

Just a quick deadheading of violas, roses and my solitary dahlia! I'm afraid the rugby has priority today.

I've sawed the corner posts for two raised beds, ordered a bulk bag of topsoil/compost which should arrive next week and ordered a wheelbarrow too. Then I decided to hide behind the sofa for a while in case the bank manager was looking for me :sofa:

Got a few odd jobs done today.

Installed a new water butt behind the shed to replace the one which developed a crack (it had lasted over 20 years though :)). Lots of faffing about to get it connected to another butt, hopefully I've got the 'plumbing' right, rain forecast for tomorrow so we'll see. :fingers crossed:

Went crawling under the pigeon netting on hands and knees to tidy up and weed in amongst the winter brassicas. Found a random small hole which something had dug underneath the leaves of one of the cauliflower plants, possibly a mouse or a vole? :noidea: Managed to avoid getting tangled up in the net too.

Potted on some Tatsoi winter salad leaves in the greenhouse and did a second sowing of Mizuna.

Took loads of cuttings of osteospermum, lavender and penstemon. Sowed some achillea, aquilegia and gernaium pratense. Divided a hardy geranium and checked on everything in the greenhouse. Having good luck with cuttings at the moment, worried winter is going to be harsh so trying to build up some 'insurance' so to speak. Decided that if I end up with loads of extra plants I will do a car boot/ give them to friends.
