I weeded behind the garage ready for the rainwater butt to go there. I could have filled the brown wheelie bin twice over, and I haven't even looked down the side yet!

Yes, that will do nicely @Lynd. :dbgrtmb:

May I suggest you stake the lower part of the tree until the roots are established, if it suffers from wind rock this winter it will pull the roots up.

Job done! I took 22 cuttings so some should survive and the bees didn't seem too fussed about me stealing from their plants while they worked. :)

Washed buckets and loads of six cell trays.

I agree with this but don't leave the stake there for more than two years. Research has now found that if you leave the stake too long the tree doesn't spread it's roots sufficiently. It gets lazy as it seems to feel safe from wind rock.

Finally got 453 bulbs planted :)
2 pots of indoor Hyacinths done ( red Jan Bos and white Carnegie ), I know they're too late for Christmas but I don't mind that.
                  About 20 Salvia cuttings done.
Started to bring the Fuchsias in as they're slowing down now.
Waiting for some advice on some Ranunculus before I do them.

These snickerdoodle cookies are so delicious, and they have the best texture. They are so fast to put together too! I actually got it from an old recipe that my Great Grandma had clipped out of a newspaper. Grandma always knows best!

                      DIRECTIONS
                      1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
                      2. Mix butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs thoroughly in a large bowl.
                      3. Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl.
                      4. Blend dry ingredients into butter mixture.
                      5. Chill dough, and chill an ungreased cookie sheet for about 10-15 minutes in the fridge.
                      6. Meanwhile, mix 3 tablespoons sugar, and 3 teaspoons cinnamon in a small bowl.
                      7. Scoop 1 inch globs of dough into the sugar/ cinnamon mixture.
                      8. Coat by gently rolling balls of dough in the sugar mixture.
                      9. Place on chilled ungreased cookie sheet, and bake 10 minutes.
                      10. Remove from pan immediately.

Mine:heehee: look more like smooth round pillows but the ingredients seem close.

Driving lessons are to learn manual transmission. I've driven an automatic for many years. Now need to learn this and watch hubby assume the crash position while I'm doing the, "if you can't find em, grind em" method for learning the gears..:heehee:

Keep at it Lori and it will suddenly fall into place. :) My daughter would love to teach you, she very rarely gets a student that wants to learn with a manual gearbox/transmission. I taught my three children the initial rudiments of driving and started them off on a dis-used airfield using reverse gear, they picked up how to control the car very quickly as it's a lower gear.

I've done quite a lot in the garden despite my nose running faster than the stream down the road! :sick0026:

Mowed half an acre of lawn, pressure hosed for four hours, trimmed 600ft of lawn edge, put up an 8ft x 8ft gazebo, put together a flat pack garden table, did a bit of weeding and then came in to collapse in my armchair.

That didn't last long before I had to sort out three emergency phone calls and five emergency emails. Just finished all that so back to the armchair. :thud:

@CanadianLori I've only ever driven a manual car & as ridiculous as this is I have no idea how to drive an automatic :doh:the closest I came to driving an automatic was in Florida on a fly drive holiday, hubby was driving of course but put me on the insurance :ouch1: after much encouragement I sat in the drivers seat & started to reverse....along came the biggest coach I'd ever seen & that was it I got all flustered, I stopped the car & the coach passed but by then I'd lost the confidence to drive the dam car, I have no idea why I got so flustered but I can tell you that I'm so disappointed with myself, generally speaking I take stuff in my stride & I'm all for equal rights for women etc etc I give most things within reason a try, one day I will do it, I will drive in Florida, passed a big coach on the wrong side of the road! In an automatic!! :dbgrtmb: I guess I'd be better to learn to drive an automatic in the UK to get used to it, then I'd only have to get to grips with driving on the wrong side of the road!
