QUOTE="Beckie76, post: 980548, member: 15611"]@CanadianLori I've never driven a manual car & as ridiculous as this is I have no idea how to drive an automatic :doh:the closest I came to driving an automatic was in Florida on a fly drive holiday, hubby was driving of course but put me on the insurance :ouch1: after much encouragement I sat in the drivers seat & started to reverse....along came the biggest coach I'd ever seen & that was it I got all flustered, I stopped the car & the coach passed but by then I'd lost the confidence to drive the dam car, I have no idea why I got so flustered but I can tell you that I'm so disappointed with myself, generally speaking I take stuff in my stride & I'm all for equal rights for women etc etc I give most things within reason a try, one day I will do it, I will drive in Florida, passed a big coach on the wrong side of the road! In an automatic!! :dbgrtmb: I guess I'd be better to learn to drive an automatic in the UK to get used to it, then I'd only have to get to grips with driving on the wrong side of the road![/QUOTE]

When I come to England I sure hope I can rewire my brain to drive on the other side.

when you all have been up 5 hours in the morning, I will be sliding into my slippers and geting ready to go out and tidy the 6x8 greenhouse. It will be raining and I don't mind getting wet in the summer but the temperature will be down around 4c therefore I will be goofing atound under covered areas.

then going to a nearby town to buy absolutely delicious ice cream

I'm sure you'll be okay with that Lori, but if you have any roundabouts there in Canada then some extra practice might be a good idea before you come. :)

We are expecting frost this weekend, so I picked the remaining aubergine so the frost does not spoil it. We only had one plant, a variety called: Black Beauty. The plant was in a container called The City Picker Patio Garden. I lost track of how many fruit this plant produced this season. The plant was so large that I had to tie it to the deck railing to support it. It is a definite do again next year.

                    Weird!

                    How much butter?!

And I was about to ask the same as Sheal - which cups, and do you know the comparable weights?

They sound delicious, but don't think I can make them without the extra info....

Lori, I don't know how you'll practice to drive round our Magic Roundabouts

Fortunately, there are only five in the country.

It's one large roundabout with five small ones around it. You can drive clockwise around the outside of the roundabout or anti-clockwise around the inside. Also, you drive clockwise around the mini-roundabouts. Simple :heehee: :loll:

One of the Magic Roundabouts has six mini-roundabouts!

:yikes: You won't see me going there, or if I do, you'll probably read about "Mystery of Missing Canuck solved When She ran out of Petrol"!

I noted that your country has a really great public transit system so may take full use of that!:)

I've emptied the large shed and advertised it for sale, cleared everything that was in that one plus the stuff from the greenhouse into the small shed that's staying, moved the potatoes into the greenhouse, watered potatoes, hanging basket and winter pot, weeded half of behind the shed, moved the compost bin to the back of the garden, moved the rainwater butt to the garage ready to be installed, thrown away a load of rubbish, moved the scaffold boards to storage, rearranged the dog kennels on the patio and cleared the brambles that were coming through the fence. :phew:

We have frost on the menu this weekend, possible snow flurries and cold weather forecast all next week, so I brought the olive trees into the greenhouse and planted and mulched a raised bed of garlic.
