Remember I give free grilled prime rib steaks to those who rake my leaves. One steak per 1/2 acre raked.

Hubby's considering the cost of the air-fare, for the steak... :snork:

He could rake the 1/2 acre here...

Most of the day like everyone else I raked up a lot of leaves and did a lot of trimming and tidying, it was a colder day today but the sun was out and the sky was blue for a change. I needed to prune my roses and could not find my cutters anywhere... Mr AB never puts things back!!! so as I had some more vouchers I decided to treat myself to some new ones..... so off I went to the garden centre and came back with a car full of bargins.....:)

Hiding indoors lining up the seed packets planning next years efforts. So many packets of seeds so little room.

Finished making the shelters for the palms this morning before the rain came. Dug the ensetes up which are now hanging upside down in the GH draining all the water out. Just the Brugmansias and musa sikkimensis left now which will need to come out before next weekend as the weather is supposed to turn abit colder. I'll wait till the frosts have hit the cannas then lift

Just had enough time to plant some winter pansies in a couple of large pots, clear a few leaves and pick up the windfall apples before the rain arrived, then retreated to the greenhouse to pot up a few winter salad plants.

You must have a sheltered garden Mowgley, your shelters wouldn't stand a chance in mine. :) Talking of which, I've not been anywhere near my garden for a week, the weather is terrible!

I know this is a bit previous but this is for tomorrow.....

Got about 15 Fuchsias left to bring in and pot up but it's mostly planting.
Today my 20 mixed large flowered Allium ( free gift ) and Iris Sibirica and Iris Louisiana collections arrived :)

Doing a bit of tidying as it's dry today. Cutting back stuff and removing leaves.

It's so mild, lots of plants are going into spring mode. One hosta has lots of its new eyes showing and many other perennials like sedum, Monarda, and lupins all have new shoots. The hellebores have flower buds coming through. I'm guessing late frosts will be as bad as early frosts. I'll mound up the mulch when the first frost is predicted. Kinda crazy it's 16c today!

Running a bit late this year but as the weather is turning a lot colder now , I will lift my Cannas and trailing Begonia tubers . First job is to plant my Triumph Tulip and Crocus bulbs . I got two big bags of them on Ebay for a very good price. :blue thumb:
