Despite rain til late afternoon I had a lovely day today. First I went to a couple of garden centres then when I got home I managed to get outside!
Planted 3 dogwoods we bought just after Christmas, (bit of wind rock damage sadly) moved some geraniums which needed more sun, and cleared a few weeds. I also placed my 2 new metal obelisks which were unwanted by my mum's friend. Going to grow sweet peas up them.
All in all a lovely day, still a long list to get through before march though!

I took advantage of the sun this morning and moved my greenhouse to the bottom of the garden and all my summer bulbs as well. It's beautiful out there. Baldrick not overjoyed as it encroaches on "his" part of the garden so I've made him some toast by way of an apology and I think we're friends again :) image.jpg

The sun has been shining but there's hardly any direct sun on my north facing garden yet apart from some down the side passage. Give it a few more weeks and there'll be a strip of sun along the south facing fence which will get wider and wider as the months progress and as the sun gets higher in the sky. :hapydancsmil:

Anyway, finished the rest of my pot and tray washing :love30: Glad that's done. Opened up the blow away again for an airing. That's getting a scrub down next. Brushed up more leaves - where do they all come from?! Moved a few containers into better positions. Did some cutting back/tidying and noticed that my Skimmia Japonica Rubella has had a going over by some unwelcome critters. Removed the damaged leaves and found a few tiny green caterpillars. :gaah: My buddleia needs hacking - but that's a job for another day. :spinning:

Sounds precisely like my garden! Although, mine is tilted slightly more in a NNW direction.

I had about half an hour this morning and another half hour this afternoon. This morning I had a check on things, tidied my greenhouse and got some pots washed and filled with compost/vermiculite which I left to warm up in the kitchen.
Then this afternoon I manged to plant out a hydrangea (was a baby in the side of a pot last spring) and prick out some dahlias and snap dragons. Got some pots waiting with those for the cannas when they're ready.
None of these things were on my list so back to it tomorrow!

Been really warm in the GH today so gave it an airing, opened doors and vents and vented the propagators ,then closed the doors and vents and props:blue thumb:

@LyndaG ...Looking at Baldricks face it'll take more than a slice of toast to get back in his good books:biggrin:

Lovely day today. I re-potted my bamboo in the front garden, into its permanent home. Hoping for maximum growth this year.
I started the process of re-potting several of my larger feature plants in the back garden, while they are still dormant. I need to prepare their new pots first, so have started doing that, and will hopefully have them potted up tomorrow.
I pruned winter die-back from several of my plants, especially the goat willow, which is starting to display its catkins.

Some would say, doing nothing in the garden on a sunny day is ... bliss .... (and we call them "sunbathers" )
                            Were you trapped at work?

My first seedlings, double Antirrhinums, were up in the electric propagator this morning, they are now in an empty bedroom that acts as a conservatory this time of year. They will move into the greenhouse at a later point. :)

I also gave my front lawn it's first cut of the season, it was hard work, being choked with moss again.

I also have a spare bedroom that acts as a conservatory - becoming slightly jungle like in there just now! Did you see the fabulous Northern Lights in the IOM earlier? I saw the video it was fabulous!
