Shifted the soil in one of the brick coldframes, filled it up with last years grass cuttings and raked the soil back over to bring it up to the light a bit more.

Planted 2 International Kidneys that have been chitting under the Chicken.

Rounded up the rest of the stray garlic plants and set them out in rows. Sown Peter Peppers & Peperoni in the greenhouse.

It had been a really sunny day but now there's a thunder storm. Didn't really do much today except examine plants and, yup, lots of signs of life ;)

The sole survivor of my damping off ravaged first sowing of Solenostemon is suddenly growing very rapidly. It was the only one with lucky three cotyledons and the true leaves are turning red :)

First I planted out a few roses, my mum has bought me 2 more which are soaking in the greenhouse for now. They are 'waltztime'. The ones I planted are reines des violettes, pasgali, a blue moon climber and for your eyes only.
Planted out some crocus and checked on sweet pea seeds in greenhouse-they are germinating! Potted up some bare root echinea, 3 for 99p from Aldi was a bargain. My T&M "plugs" were absolute rubbish in comparison.

Then I cleared the propagator of phlox and scabious which don't seem to have germinated, so I put some cerinthe, rudbeckia, cosmos, tumbling toms and white verbascum in there. Hoping for better luck this time.
Also have a super 7 propagator on the way so longer germinating seeds won't hold up my seed sowing progress so much.
Sowed some delphiniums and have put them under the stairs for tonight, I heard they germinate better if given darkness at night? Didn't have any luck last time. I need tips on seed sowing I think.
Cannas and dahlias are all I can do!

I decided to move my decking and pergola to a spot where there is more sun and less over looked. Wish I hadn't started.

All looked good initially but found that the main supports were completely rotten. Most of the decking boards and the Pergola are fine though so could have been much worse.

Nothing to report from me other than acquiring an old hutch from recycle which is going to be repurposed as an extra bedroom for our hens when they arrive on Saturday :)
Someone else has tried to claim it in the meantime though...

Was up early using the kitchen table and sink so I could have a bit of peace  :mute: Sowed 3 types of salvia, 2 types of agastache, and snaps. Bunged them in the prop. Haven't done anything outside as one minute it's hail, the next it's raining all while blowing a gale but now the sun is out. :rolleyespink:

Have been potting up rooted cuttings of Buddleia davidii 'Black Knight', variegated Weigelia, upright rosemary and bay. Some hadn't put many roots out so I've popped those on the heat bench to bring them along, but the majority are looking good :dbgrtmb:

Took some stuff up to the allotment, fixed a broken bird table leg and plot sign, ordered some tarpaulin and tent pegs so I can start killing off the grass and weeds.
Planning on spending the afternoon up there tomorrow :)
