My first real sortie out into the garden today with a list of jobs. I pruned all the clematis on the Trellis entrance and then followed that with pruning the climbing rose "Masquerade" along with the several Clematis climbing through it. I moved some large pots into one area to give some sense of organisation and so that I could sort them out later. Then I dug up a white Hydrangea from the border where the base for my Dome will be and moved it to the border down by the pond. A Michaelmas Daisy followed the Hydrangea but there are at least a dozen or so plants to be moved from that area. I then got down on my knees and started removing all the debris and dead plants from the Lawn border using a sack to hold the stuff. As always, one job leads to another and I had to get the Hand Fork out to deal with weeds and Couch Grass from in between the Perennials, bulb shoots, and annuals. I thought that I had tamed the Couch Grass as I always do an annual dig out of it but this year it seems to have flourished.:gaah: So I dug out several yards of underlying Couch Grass roots and binned them as they are one thing that doesn't go on the Compost Heap. Digging around in the border led to re-positioning some perennials and taking out some Teasels that I always have plenty of. That only got 2/3rds of the border done, with the large walkaround border, the pond border, the pond area, the West border, the South border, and the East Border to be done. That then leaves me the Green House to be completely stripped out, sterilised and cleaned, the 8 climbing roses by the pond and the two on the sides of the Arbour to be pruned along with the Honeysuckle. Then of course there are the other jobs that will pop up as I'm doing the other jobs........Aaaah, the joy of Spring.:coffee::snork:

So true, Sheal,................I shied away from actually listing all the jobs to be done in the garden as that would have only made me go...........:gaah: and lead to me borrowing Ziggy's jacket.

I will be sorting out the potting shed and shed because my garden table and chairs are coming back out :-)

It does mean my parents have to help which means my dads going to get stressy and argue and they will bicker. So that wont be fun but its one more job ticked off

That's exciting! :blue thumb: There are a few members now with new allotments this year. Some photos would be good when you pick one! :spinning: Good luck!

Sowed some more seed this morning. The prop is now bursting but I'm pleased to say that the snaps are up already. :dancy:

Fed birds today. Blowing a gale in these parts. Too windy to put up a new nesting box. It's cold oh so cold :wow:Fed birds today. Got new drip trays for the greenhouse so played at gardening indoors. Kitchen was flooded several weeks ago so have no hot water but did get electricity back on yesterday so can heat greenhouse. All sweet peas and radish and gladioli all survived their ordeal of no heat
