Im moving a pergola and I got a couple of my neighbours to help me move to a temporary spot. 1 gust of wind and the lot came down. Will dismantle and start a new.

Well it's now chucking it down so I did some more seed sowing and pottering. Checked the heated prop and moved some that had germinated onto a window sill. I said I wasn't going to grow as much this year but I didn't listen to myself. :snork:

I've had to do some moving of things in the shed (a bit strenuous) so that I could get a load of tiles out of there (need them for repairing the bathroom).

I then had a lovely bonfire. It started off at 7ft high and a diameter of 8ft. My neighbour then added to it, at my invitation as he only has brazier for burning things, and put a 7ft Christmas tree and loads of conifer branches on it. In return I get all the compost from his grass cuttings (he has just over half an acre of lawn).

Sorry @Jenny namaste I couldn't take photos as I was having to hose the fruit trees down all the time.

The sun decided to come out around 3pm so I decided to wash out the blow away with some JF and put the shelving back in it. I noticed there's a few small holes in it especially in the roof. It hasn't been helped by the cat from the house behind me who's taken to sitting on it in the sunshine. Now I've washed down the outside of it with JF, I'm hoping it will put him off as cats don't like the smell!

I also had to give a pot of chionodoxa some tlc. Something has dug a big hole in the middle of the pot and flung both soil and bulbs onto the paving stones. I fixed it as best I could and covered it with some mesh and some other pots too just in case. There was a blackbird in the tree looking guilty!

Spent the afternoon gardening in t-shirt and flip-flops - lovely, lovely sunshine!

With company and help from hubby, I cleared a few trug-fulls of leaves blown in from neighbours gardens, trimmed the lavender in the herb bed, weeded the herb bed, moved the garlic chives that were about to be surrounded by Moroccan thymne, and weeded the angle bed and the island bed. Discussions were had about the best way to proceed with the compost bin re-build, how to improve the island bed, what to do around the entrance gate with some of our salvaged bricks. I think we have a plan for 2015....!

GC word of the day. :snork:

Had a good pruning and sowing session this afternoon. Pruned the Clematis tangutica and the Passion flower which both grow against the garage wall, also pruned the 'Paul's Scarlet' climbing rose on the rustic arch.
In the greenhouse, sowed Celeriac and Rudbeckias and sowed some Early Nantes carrots in a large pot.

I had an hour or so after a day out so planted out my new centaurea and kniphofia. Potted on geranium eureka blue and did a half hearted attempt at lawn edging. Got rid of lots of weed seedlings in the shady bed at the back of the garden. Popped some slug pellets where I have planted a new clematis (miss Bateman).
Lots of spring bulbs getting closer to flowering now. :spinning:
Soil is looking good for direct sowing too, nice and dark and crumbly.:blue thumb:

It's been a gorgeous day and I spent the time in a very warm greenhouse. I haven't caught up with my seed sowing although Cosmos and Nicotiana are now in the propagator. Unfortunately rotation for that is slow due to some seeds taking there time to germinate. Pricked out and potted on Antirrhinum and then potted on a young Clematis and two young Sambucus 'Black Lace' that I took as cuttings late last year.

Oh I do like Sambucus 'Black Lace' a really beautiful plant with the black/purple feathered leaves and the blush pinky white flowers *sigh* reminds me of when I was at college and plant ident's as we used to correlate plant names with alcoholic beverages to help use remember the names :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I planted the original plant two years ago and the wind just burns off the leaves and breaks the stems so I'll be digging it out sometime next week to replace it with something else.

Twist my arm and a three inch tall rooted plant could be yours if you want to nurture it ICR! They do grow fairly quickly. :)
