Hi @Sarah Giles have you had a look on gumtree/ free cycle for a free/cheap greenhouse? Might be worth a look. I'm loving your cold frame, such a bargain :dbgrtmb:. Your seedlings are looking great, I hope you will be able to trade your spare sprouts for other veg down at the allotment :)

Yesterday, between rain showers, I planted some sunflower seeds directly where I hope they will flower. The date on the seeds was "sow by 6/13" (but it didn't say whether that was a.m. or p.m so I hedged my bets and planted midday  ). Nothing to lose by trying :heehee:

No problem Sarah I shall pop right over! :heehee: I poo picked my coops this morning I will clean them out tomorrow. Now the nights are lighter your girls will spend less time in their coops so they won't get so dirty.....but watch out for the path & patio they will get covered when they are free ranging! I don't know why but my hens love to poo on the back door step :eeew:

Hi, I've been after a stone bird bath for a while now, and managed to get one from eBay today £35, I was going to place it at the top of the garden with the planters, but I think it will look nice in the middle of the lawn with a border round it,

So that's one of my afternoon jobs,

Shall I paint it like the planters are leave it as it is, what's your thoughts please.

Managed to grab an utter bargain from ASDA today, if anyone's after a waterbutt, they're selling 100L slimline ones with a stand and tap/drain adapter thing for £18. Bargain!!

removed more sycamore seedings and recovered two of the cloches that blew off the raised beds. altho it looks like i'm just growing sycamore seedlings under the cloches rather than broadbeans

Oops...sorry...this post should have appeared before your reply above (had to extricate my reply from your quote bubble...)

Sycamore seedlings can be a bugger to get out, i.e. the whole long thin root. I try to grab them when I see the seeds lying around...so many of them though. What do you use? I dislike anything chemical so use my long hand trowel.

So now it looks like you predicted my questions! Ha! [IMG]

Personally, I would leave it as it is :) Also, if you are going to place it in the centre of the lawn ... just remember you will have to mow around it, so when you construct a border around it, keep that in mind
