I've got some french marigolds and cosmos to prick out so I'll get that done today. Just had a wander around and noticed that the plants my friend bought me to cheer me up seem to have grown bigger already! :)

I just did some more lawn edging and tried to repair the edges where the tree surgeons had been working. The propagation department (Mrs Shiney) seems to have been working hard, as I had to go and buy another 4 x 70 litres of compost. That's a once a week journey at the moment!

Oh, I nearly forgot! I had some fun and games fixing trellis to the fence. Not being a DIY person (definitely not!!) I could only find odd sizes and lengths of screw in my box (can't really call it a tool box ) and struggled by with those. It's not really good enough but a friend gave me some longer screws last night and I'll put them in today. At least the trellis hasn't fallen down yet! :fingers crossed: :heehee:

Cheating a bit as this wasn't today, but over the Easter weekend. Moving a bit of trellis in less than eight minutes. Would have been quicker if I had put the screwdriver to "do up" instead of "undo".

In between coats of paint in the downstairs toilet I managed to get in the garden for a while. I have sown some runner beans, nasturnium and chrysanthemums. I potted up a Hosta in a mix of compost and manure. And I managed to prick out the cosmos I bought on Friday for £1 I got 45 seedlings out of it. Potted up some ligularia that have self seeded as we are hoping to put the house up for sale soon and thought I could take them with me, also done the same with some aquilegia seedlings.

Did some weeding and general tidying this morning. My T&M pansies are finally flowering though the slugs keep munching the flowers! Planted out some sweet peas, hoping they will start to grow a bit more in the ground than the pots they were in.
Had to return one of my cornus midwinter fire, as it's died for some reason. The GC only had a scabby looking one as replacement so got a purple hebe instead, hoping it will turn out nice. Oh and got some half price lupin plugs, 5 for £3ish.
Potted all those up and gave a few things a drink and week feed...then actually had 10 minutes to wander around and take everything in! :spinning::blue thumb::hapydancsmil:

Weeding! Lots and lots of weeding. Pulled up 50+ mare's tail buds, pictured below. Also had a bit of trouble digging out dock weeds.. right out of the middle of my vegetable patch!! Very frustrating as i had to try not to disturb my tiny carrot seedlings.
I've been on holiday for just over 5 days and you wouldn't believe how fast these things pop up!
