I've had a clear out today, no not rubbish but all the young plants indoors apart from the Begonia's. Everything is now in the greenhouse so I'll be expecting a frost anytime soon :heehee: and although the tender youngsters are inside my bubble wrap tent, everything else is having to brave it on the open shelving.

I potted on a dozen Salvia's that had already filled their three inch pots with roots, I just hope they don't get to big before they go outside. My dwarf Lavatera's are just about ready to go out as well but it's to early so I'll have to pot those on again too.

What's wrong with my Cosmos seed this year, they don't want to germinate! I started a second packet of seed two weeks ago and only two came up. I sowed more a week ago and still no sign, they're usually up in three days! Both packets of Cosmos although the same type were produced by different companies, so it has to be the seed........:ideaIPB: or is it the compost? I'm using Jack's Magic for the first time and not that impressed with it even though it was recommended.

Mowed the lawn on Saturday, after work paused on the bug hotel, and started edging/tidying the borders after the boys went to bed. Continued edging/tidying on Sunday whilst the boys were digging for gold (). Removed a lot of mint roots from near my shed.
I do like it when the lawn is first cut and the edging is crisp & tidy. :)
Hoping to get half an hour in later, maybe relocate some aquilega seedling in the wrong place.

We're expecting a delivery today and time simply draaaaaaaaaags by: so, I've been Project Manager in the garden instead :heehee:
Two brackets now attached to the wall, either side of the back door; one "sign" now up on one side of the back door and underneath that, the garden bench has found its permanent home (we've been using it in the dining room since we came here  ). Storage "bench" now relocated to the patio and the patio seating set now has its permanent home too. :phew:
Weeds are starting to show their ugly faces, but there is still a slight wind here, so not able to spray them :th scifD36: - yet!
Next task ... prepare a cafétier of coffee, plant myself in the garden and grow in knowledge via a good book

Cleared more of the grass to create a new bed infront of the hedge

Filled the green bin with ivy, bramble and weeds that i cleared from the hedge

Starting weeding part of the big border

And now im in the middle of watering everything. I really really want it to rain soon please

I have grown before but never got them to flower , I told @Lolimac as she had a problem with the :chicken::chicken::chicken::chicken: pulling them out the pond , if you tie a stone on to a piece of nylon sting and attach to the roots you can roughly keep them in the same place

@Spruce - mine never flowered either, but they did provide fabulous shade coverage for my goldfish!

Well, just after I posted earlier, delivery arrived (so no coffee!) The dining set fits fine (yay me!) but my longed for chest of drawers does *not* :cry3: (don't even try and guess the numpty who measured everything ... bar the jutting out windowsill  ) .... so, I took my frustrations out on the weeds ... bought a gel instead of the spray and gave them all a gel massage. If the perishers do not die from the gel, they'll at least die from undying love for me for the massages they'll be getting :rolleyespink:

Picked up some compost so I can pot on some more seedlings  But that can wait until tomorrow now.

I find Jack's Magic sets hard if not kept moist and it dries out very quickly which is no good for seedlings. I also think there are less nutrients in it as growth rate isn't as good as previous years when I've used Verve. I was hoping to get away from Verve completely this year as I don't think that's as good as it was either, but I've gone back to it as I'm potting things on. I'll try a different mpc next year.
