Recently I've been clearing the entrance to a perspex 'shelter' that's in my garden.
It housed some cacti this year but the entrance had become so overgrown that I couldn't get in there.

It's a good job cacti are drought resistant, because I hadn't watered them for about two months.

Here is how it looked before :-

    Here it is now :-

Inside the shelter the hardy Fuchsia had become so overgrown, and the flowers were hanging in bunches from the 'roof' ... they were pretty though.

Here's the view looking out from the shelter after I'd finished cutting back :-

    It all needs tidying !

I took all the cacti out and put my tomatoes in there, because it gets more light than where they were, and they seem not to be doing very well. I hope they buck up a bit.

I started my gardening off yesterday with well over an hour of picking beans and quite a while picking rhubarb. Then an hour's break for a cuppa and a read - plus sending out emails to those people that were waiting for beans etc. Then I continued digging and weeding the nasty weeds and bagging them as the wheelie bins are full.

Mrs Shiney carried on the heavy pruning and I had a problem putting all the prunings on the bonfire because the wind off the field was too strong!

Mrs Shiney was also preparing her entries for the horticultural and flower show on Tuesday.

@wiseowl When I was a little boy I made my dad paint my bedroom in that colour :rolleyespink: :snork:
I remember everyone saying "Why didn't you choose a 'nice' colour ?"
But I think that IS a nice colour. :blue thumb:

Well, yesterday I cut about 10-15 metres of one of the laurel hedges, and bundled all the cuttings up into faggots (has to be tied with natural twine, so not easy - as it breaks, and shreds my fingers as I tighten...)

Today, so far, I have brought all 15 faggots back in from the edge of the road, as they were not collected... :frown:

Taken a few dahlia cuttings after the flower head snapped off the stem (bit distraught ovr that lol).
Discovered it's too hot already so relaxing on patio with feet up. It's exhausting.
