Waiting for seeds to germinate - even with a heated propagator I don't think our front room is warm enough yet.

Good morning to day I am going to put in two apple trees a Cox's Orange Pippin and a Golden Delicious ,which I purchased from my local Tesco's good trees over 6ft tall in good size pots, couldn't resist them as I had to walk passed them to do some food shopping:heehee:

More manual labour. Moving heavy stuff around, weeding and cutting back. Didn't start until 2 o'clock as Only got back after spending last night back with dad but have brought him back until the weekend. So satisfying to be back out there after only one day away. Dad's job tomorrow is to sand the newly constructed table so will keep him out of mischief.

                  Good afternoon @wiseowl
Thank you for going to so much trouble on my behalf; really appreciate it! :)
With that spread, I could possibly squeeze a pair into my own garden

The weather is foul today so I spent an hour or so in the greenhouse potting on some seedlings, although they were brought back indoors after as it's still to cold out there. I also put another tray of seeds in the propagator indoors.

I have about a dozen young Iris seedlings showing now in two out of eight pots in the greenhouse. I don't expect to see many more as a lot of the seeds were immature, but I thought I'd try them to see if they'd come up.

just looking at "new" garden products - this one doesn't really make sense to me - at least in our climate - opinions?

A trug with a cold frame- I guess the fact that the underside is open to the air the soil could not possible enjoy much heat retention?

I guess I'd better go down and play with the heater in the greenhouse again. It cut out a few times last night....

Was fairly nice earlier today so was out still clearing leaves which seem to gather at the base of shrubs only days after I think I have completely de-leaved a whole bed!

Also did some early planting out of perennials in pots I've overwintered, a bit early but I am impatient. Penstemons and Achillea seem to have really beefed up since autumn. Hard cut back on osteospermum and found a little sunny spot for them.

Pishing down now as per ....

@CanadianLori I agree with you there, major heat loss as you say. I suppose they may be useful if one had bending problems or a disability, they would be at a handy height then for tending. On the whole I think they look nice but not totally practical. Bet they are well pricey too!
