Well, it wasn't warm out there today but I fired up the log burner and it gave a nice heat off to keep my hands warm enough.
I washed and filled lots of seed trays and pots. Then watered them. Planted lots of seeds that are now sitting on the kitchen window sill. All labeled and ready to go.

Did a lot of tidying up the back and got planters ready for potatoes and tomatoes. Green houses tidied and then cleared patio. Was just ready for final clear up and the rain came down so abandoned at 5 until tomorrow. It was as usual, though, a satisfying day.

Pottered about in the greenhouse for a while, potting up some Gazania seedlings and some 'Tatsoi' Pak Choi seedlings which were sown in January. The Tatsoi should provide some fresh spring greens in a few weeks. :)

Also did a little weeding and tidying up in a few of the winter pots and containers.

I had a clear out in the greenhouse of cuttings that hadn't rooted, also some seeds in pots that hadn't germinated, no loss with those though as I hadn't expected them to come up. Had a shuffle in the propagator, a tray of germinated Lupins out and Nicotiana in and then finished by washing pots, trays and labels.

Not in the garden, feeling too run down.. really want to start digging and get the borders started and the apple tree/raspberries need to go in  might just shove everything in pots or sacks instead :noidea:
Re-done the lobelia in a flat tray, sowed circus clown snap dragons and Coreopsis Early Sunrise, potted the echinacea and red hot poker roots and made an extra plant of both. Forgot I potted up the petunia and fuschia plugs on the weekend, they're looking ok. Used fibre pots on them for a try as they were cheap, safe to say I won't be using them again!

                    Ooh Woo,

Hope you've got some sunglasses :roflol: , or is it not quite that bright in real life.

Seriously though, it would look lovely with some dark foliage around it, like a small box hedge :)

Made the most of a lovely sunny day and gave all the greenhouse glass its annual clean and hose down, inside and out. Quite a big job as it's an 18ft by 8ft greenhouse, in two sections.

While I was doing it, I discovered a small screwdriver sitting in the greenhouse guttering. I must have left it there when I was cleaning the glass this time last year, and needed to remove one or two panes. Wondered where that had gone.

Moved the potted thuja occidentalis (yellow ribbon) from one end of the garden (where it was positioned the other week  ) to the patio next to my bench. Now the weather is warming up, it's quite a nice place to sit and have a morning cuppa; moving the thuja there gives me a smidgen of privacy from the neighbour.

That inspired me to move the (potted) fatsia japonica to a spot near the back gate - an area which gets no sun but isn't so shaded that I can't read a book in that spot - which has now left a bare patch on the patio ... which must mean: I need more plants!! :heehee:

Lots of sweeping/tidying and throwing away followed the two big pot moves.

Time to chill a bit now.

Beautiful day in NI yesterday, won't tempt fate though! I finally got around to trimming our bloody big hedge, removing some of the weeds in the large flower bed and began filling in my raised veggie beds!
