I've potted on a tray of Antirrhinum seedlings this afternoon, what fiddly little things they are, it's like working with Mustard Cress. :snorky: Only four Echinacea seeds germinated out of ten, I've potted those on too. Also one of the pots of Iris seedlings, now in individual pots. :)

I bought a number of packets of Unwins seeds last year and was disappointed at the failure rate. Thinking it was a one off I bought more this year. So far most have failed which I'm not happy about and I definitely won't be buying any more. I've never experienced this with Suttons seeds, so I will continue to buy from them in future.

I like Suttons and Johnsons Sheal. Never really had any failures with those.

I've not bought Johnson's seeds for yonks and I don't know why. Thanks, I'll keep them in mind. :)

The first job out in the garden today was to use hi-tech mastic to seal the base of the Observatory on the outside, and tomorrow I will paint over it with hi-tech black waterproof paint as a double precaution. After that I got the Hoe out and hoed the thousands of Celandine seedlings and mature plants that were growing under my Acer Brilliantissimum at the bottom of the garden to try to stop the seeding of them later this year. The temperature today in the garden only reached 48f, but it felt colder, so I wore a body warmer as I tidied up the area around the Compost Heap. Then I made a mug of Coffee and went down to sit by the pond to stare at the Frogs as they stared back at me!!

Well I've moved into my new house with a much bigger garden than I had previously. There's still plenty of jobs to do in the house so I don't think I'll be able to do much gardening this year as we have to get the house sorted first. The only thing I've done is position my hand made bird table where I want it and put some food on it. There are loads of birds in this garden compared to my last one. The dawn chorus here is amazing. :hapydancsmil:

                            HYDRANGEA macrophylla 'Bethany Beach' :spinning:
The robust, pale blue-flowered 'Bethany Beach' is an exceptionally long-flowering lacecap hydrangea. Its large flattened flower clusters of pale blue or bluish pink blooms appear from early to late summer atop compact plants with glossy dark green leaves
