Cut the lawn and did all the edging, looking smart if it wasn`t for all the buttercups growing in the lawn.

I refreshed the outdoor planter with three new cyclamen around the cineraria and replaced the rather aged compost, but I feel terrible because I accidentally sliced off most of the cineraria's roots in the process (don't ask) and I'm worried it will die now. I repotted some sedge grass and a sedum out of the hanging basket into pots, and have temporarily stored the basket away. Bought a nice pot in sage green to repot a plant display from the kitchen. All of this followed a trip round three local garden centres with a neighbour which was nice. I saw a lovely foliage plant called Coprosma Tequila Sunrise and another called Scarlett O'Hara. They were stunning colours!

Well i made a start on a part of the garden i left wild last year, i am unsure what to do, i don't want to start messing with the border a few plants are starting to get settled,

Maybe put the planters up to the conifers and leave a walkway in between the border and the planters/conifers.

We got a fair bit done yesterday despite waterlogged ground. The bottom of the garden, where I had started making a new bed, has had to be left alone for now as it's under water. The bed itself is just a bit soggy but the lawn around it, where I need to cut the turf out and make an edge is waterlogged and unworkable.

We shifted two of our big compost heaps to the veggie patch and around some of the beds and now filled the empty spaces with two tons of horse manure (the garden smells a bit like a stable :heehee:) and intermixed it with a ton of grass cuttings and leaves. As we're now into the grass cutting season we shall be adding more grass and digging it in. My neighbour also drops his grass cuttings over the fence and onto the heaps. :blue thumb: The top 12" of the third heap has also been mixed in so that we now have access to some more good compost. The flower beds seem to be in need of it this year as they seem extra claggy.

We're still filling in spaces where a lot of plants have died, using plants from our nursery areas.

All the privet and laurel hedges have been cut. I checked them first for bird nests :) but the early nests seem to all be in the conifers and ivy. The woodpeckers that lived in the giant poplar tree that we had removed last week have all made new homes in the next two poplars and are happily feeding on the bird feeder.

Mrs Shiney has been doing a lot of weeding and potting on and taking cuttings. :dbgrtmb:

The weather prevented me doing any work in the garden yesterday, so I ordered the last of the plants that I am planning to put in this year. There is a bit of doubt if I can get 4 of them, but that makes the wait curiously full of suspense.

Moooore lawn mowing, front and back, I swear it never ends. Found a pot for a rogue dahlia bulb that's been kicking around, and now musing over places to put hanging baskets. Also starting to get miffed off about still not having patio flags down, the little gravelly stones of the hard core make such a mess!

I managed to sow exactly 24 trays with annuals, biennials, and hardy perennials and they're now safely ensconced in the warm rear room so that is the main job done. Next is the emptying, cleaning and disinfecting of the Green House:snorky:

Well what a day, started at 6.45am in my own garden for 45 mins before going to work. Moving a few bits out of the GH and tidying the pond up.
Then off to work, in my lunch hour made the yearly start on my retired bosses garden.
Mowed the lawn first as he's got the flu then onto the hedges, hydrangeas, fuchsias.
All done in hour lunch break :phew:
Then home had my dinner, then off down to the grandmother in laws again to finish her garden. Trimmed all the climbing roses and standards then onto the privet hedge, Finished that. All is needed now have a big bonfire :hapfeet:
Just come out of the bath and time for a G+T :)

It has been more garden related than in the garden for me today. I've been replacing the Tecumseh engine in my ancient Shredder with a brand new Briggs and Stratton. A quick test run with it has reminded me how much better it is than the electric one I've been using for the past few months.

I get the pleasure, and honour, when refilling the Seed Feeders and then putting Sultanas onto the old decrepit Bird Table by the pond of a young female Blackbird letting me stand next to it as she flies in and feeds on the Sultanas.:snorky:

Repotted several Agapanthus today, easier said than done, they didn't want to come out and had to smash a couple of pots! Fortunately they were the cheap ones.

Lined the new pots with heavy duty weed fabric which I'm hoping helps when I have to repot again at some point.
