Last autumn I swore I would take it a bit easier this year.....so just came in from greenhouses after planting 8 huge dahlias from lidl, various kinds of tomatoes(green zebra, Sungold, yellow pear,) radishes, coreopsis, bishop's children, lavatera, cerinthe, Cleome, French beans ( with finger's crossed), split the tarragon, potted on some over wintered salvias. And then ordered some collards, kale, psb and rudbeckia Aztec golds. I love gardening!

Some weeding; a little more weeding and then, just for variety ... a little more weeding!

Finished planting up the area next to the new fence today, three large box plants from my daughter's garden have gone in to complete the job. :)

Gave all the pots and containers a good spring sort out. They've all been weeded, topped up, moved around, fed or emptied as required.

Finished off in the day in the greenhouse, pricking out a couple of trays of celeriac seedlings.

While I was doing all this, Mrs Trunky was busy treating all the wooden garden furniture with preservative, before making a start on painting the summerhouse.

Oh, and while I was round at my daughter's house this morning I cut the grass for them as they're away on holiday.

          Need a rest now. :phew:

I lost lots of my seeds today :( I must have thrown them out after my visit to the allotment last weekend. Luckily T&M have a 50% off sale today, but still kicking myself for being so stupid.

Down the allotment, I couldn't sow any more seeds... so I opted for more weeding and I cleared a few more meters of couch grass. Including the bed I want to use to practice some garden design on. I'm trying to create a mini prairie style bed, and I planted a large ornamental grass and two of my white Astrantias that I grew from seed last year (still to confirm if they are indeed white!)

Been cleaning my digger ready to paint it, gunk and a jet wash and I'll use it to dig the patch of garden by the poly tunnel.
Not as back breaking as a spade.

True, but on the other hand you don't have to clean, paint, gunk and jet wash a spade. :snorky:

I'm almost too tired to type! Ripped up decking and took sledge hammer and wrecking spike to the patio that was underneath. Cleared the concrete and burned all the rotten timber.
Planning to build new raised beds tomorrow but feeling a bit pooped at the moment

I only did a load of pressure washing of the patio. Only another 30, or so, hours to finish it :phew:

As usual, Mrs Shiney did ten times the amount of work out there than I did. :love30:

Planted out my Sweetpeas , pruned back the Fuchsia Delta Sarah . Pricked out the Bidens Golden Eye , now that was really fiddly like sorting out little pieces off cotton ! They are in the light box for a few days to bring them on :blue thumb:

Wet and dismal so apart from checking on my veg seedlings in the greenhouse it's back to paint brushes for me:sad:

Finished digging over the plot and raked half a ton of compost in. Just digging out the weeds coming under the fence to fix the rest of the wind break to and dig the bottom in.

Making a curry from freshly discovered carrots, celeriac, beetroot and spuds :)
