Up early this morning taking photo's and back by mid-day... spent the rest of the day weeding and digging over the bottom end of the garden... planted the remaining of my earlier purchases so all done... I feel another visit to the garden centre coming along as I still have a large space to still fill... this area has solely been planted to attract wildlife so hopefully it will look really good and colourful.

I tidied the pond up and put in new plants...fish enjoyed their first real feed and were darting around in the sunshine... whilst tidying up one of the large pond grasses I purchased last year a toad jumped out at me, I nearly jumped out of my skin as I wasn't expecting that... lots of tadpoles and I've just noticed a number of newts.

It's gone a little bit on the colder side now so ready for my tea :)

Been busy today! Potted up two small clematis and fashioned something for them to grab onto and climb up but will need expanding when they are bigger.

The garden I am looking after is in a bad way, and hasn't had much attention over the years. There are many wild grasses and huge weeds growing, and loads of rubbish under some of the long grass- I've found screws, rusted fence panel plates, pegs, plastic bag fragments from where they have rotted, takeaway containers, a rusted trowel, food packaging, and all manner of other rubbish which has been picked out and disposed of! I'm imagining when I go to plant more things I will find more under the earth...!

The lawn and surroundings were full of dandelions so I've done my best to pick them out, some had very deep roots and must have been there many years!

I'm looking to create a wildflower and grass border so I weeded, cut some of the wild grasses back a bit, and followed the instructions on the seed box to plant (rake/aerate soil, water, scatter seeds, rake, water) it was called "pretty wildflower garden" and was from the pound shop, so will see how successful it works! I also scattered in a few cornflower seeds too.

The front garden is a pebble-covered garden so I weeded and tidied this and then tidied up and dead-headed the hanging basket of pansies and violas which is looking a bit sad! Still don't have much idea of what I'm doing but things are starting to grow so this is good!

Potted on the tomatoes black cherry, sungold, gardeners delight and tigerella.
Turned over the beds and borders at the bottom of the garden and removed last years bedding plants.
