What jobs are we doing in the garden today 2016

Down to the grandmother in laws again yesterday after work, loads done lawns edged and cut. Must of took 1000 bluebell bulbs out of the borders. Found another 5 bags of tulips in the GH so potted them up in a few planters. Ash from the bonfire scattered onto the compost heap...
Tomorrow armed with jeyes fluid the GH will be cleaned .
In my garden nothing today as having little mowgleys friends round and keeping three 7 year old entertained. Just back in from the GH bringing about 25 trading of plant back in because its forecast -1'c here tonight

 

That sounds familiar Loofah. If it's the same as I've dug up in the past it's probably an old washing line post.

 

Gardens looking goooood @martin-f all your hard work paying off ..............how many pansies are you up to now or have ya lost count

 

Yep! And it dislocates your shoulder with each wallop!

 

Thank you BH, its still work in progress but getting there slow but sure,

I've put 300 in now ,

This is the earliest picture i have there was no fence to the right and i had cleared all the branches from the trees at the top of the garden that was left plus removed 8 half size trees as the ones seen in the picture out by the root ,


I need to update my work in progress thread here, i have also built a summer house its still not finished but will be in a few months time, hoping to start work on the patios at the side of the SH next week.

@martin-f Now that's SOME progress great pics thanks for the updates there really great to look at bet you cant believe how far you've come .....not to mention 300 pansy plantings

 

Thanks again BeeHappy , yes its nice to look back, all done by hand with no help from anyone, lots of things in place plant wise that I wont see the benefit for a few years,

Next year I will be able to relax a little and sit back and enjoy my hard work and the wildlife around me, happy days .

Finished fixing the debris netting on the fence, not only will it cut the wind, it'll stop the sheep sticking their heads thru and eating everything

 

But they may go hungry, poor sheeps

 

I'll make them some cucumber ramwiches

Just got the spuds in in time for a downpour Saves watering them

 

Got a fair bit done today once the morning frost had lifted.

In the greenhouse, potted up the sweet pepper seedlings and did my first sowing of carrots in a large pot.

In the veg plot, planted the Arran Pilot spuds and put stakes and string around the autumn sown broad beans, which are already in flower and reaching a good height.

Gave an old garden bench a quick rub down and a coat of wood preservative.

Finished off the afternoon giving the herbaceous border a quick going over, doing a little hand weeding, while paying special attention to the bittercress, which has begun its annual campaign to invade everywhere.
