What jobs are we doing in the garden today 2016

I've done nothing constructive in the garden today, as was in church this morning, and out for a lovely informal meal this afternoon...
But we did walk around the garden this evening, glass of wine in hand, admiring the cherry blossom, plum blossom, and the Spring-sown broad bean seedlings just emerging from the ground.

 

I've had a lovely satisfying day of gardening in our garden and down the allotment in the sun.

I planted all of my main crop potatoes... I think this might be a bit early but I got bored of them just sitting there on our floor. So they're all in the ground now. The new asparagus are sticking their spears up through soil... Was tempted to snack on one but I know I have to wait a year

I also planted up a few of the plants I wanted in a new 'prairie' style bed on the allotment, which was fun. I'm quite excited about it really as I can grow plants I don't grow in the garden like Kniphofia.

Planted up some more seeds of lettuce and calendula, potted on Nicotiana. Feel like I'm on top of things, stuff is growing and I have a week off from next weekend to really get sorted.

 

I've been away all weekend so done nothing. Going to try and finish work early some days this week so I can crack on. No heavy jobs though- 5 months pregnant now and struggling a bit at times.

 

Bought yet more plants I don't really need/have room for including some Penstemon Pinacolada White which I'd not heard of before, so a bit of impulse. Also a bunch of Scabiosa Pink Diamonds, not sure where they will go either.

Bought a few shade loving rockeryish plants for my new shady rockeryish area I've almost completed.

Spent a bit of time rejigging one of the beds to make growing room from newly discovered Peony/Triffid. So a bit of musical chairs in that border, hopefully nothing will sulk too much at being moved. Gave me the chance to make room for a grouping of Hemerocalis Crimson Pirate I had potted up and needing a home.

I've developed this garden along the naturalistic lines with lots of greenery with patches of fairly muted colours and whites. With this spell of mad compulsive plant purchases it may have morphed into 'riot of colour' style in places I'm calling it an experiment ...

Oh my word, there's not a piece of me which doesn't ache! I've dug, moved pots, swept the patio, finished the area near the Rose arch, put in 4 roses, dug in 25 slabs , cleaned out the hens, watered, cleaned the house, done some ironing & the grocery shopping I'm exhausted but I've had a fantastic day doing all those jobs I can now see the garden coming together .

Hi, repositioned my butterfly bush and a honeysuckle ? today it will be in the way of my plans at a later date so I thought best moved now,

Also been locating landscape sleepers and patio paving managed to find the sleepers at £12.50 each for 2.4x200x100 that's including delivery i will measure up in the morning but I need around 20, my garden has a slope at the moment and i want to lose it.
