What jobs are we doing in the garden today 2016

Today I ave been mostly digging up Ground Elder and watering

Took peas, leeks, parsley & glob artichokes out of the propagator and covered them up in the fruit cage to harden off.

But where's the fruit Zigs?

Blackcurrants and Gooseberries are at the back, Raspberries are coming up everywhere and we need to get all the potted up stuff out and sold asap

Don't even know half the stuff I've potted up, it's not veg or wild flowers

 

Well GC does have an Identification Forum you know, perhaps you should try it.

Where do you live ? I thought you were in the UK, but that temps a bit high.

 

• Cleared more gravel from the front bed, which is now 2/3rds done. Next push should see it ready to sow poppy and cerinthe seeds!
• Repurposed gathered gravel by spreading it on the driveway.
• Planted out Nasturtiums in the railing planters that arrived today!

 

Due to a foot injury, today I ave been mostly pottin up loads of Fuchias

Helped of course by the chickens

 

@Zigs What did you do to your foot? Are there any of your teeth marks involved

Seriously, I do hope you heal quickly.

I picked up 12 bags of potting soil, 3 of garden soil and I'm guessing because I'm a big old brute of a woman, that's why no one offered to help me load it up!

Found some hoops and plastic covers that will fit perfectly over my trugs so now I guess I'd better get sowing some seeds in those. Honestly, other than for carrots, I don't remember what I had planned on growing in these three trugs ....

Visited my friend in the home and watered his plants. The staff have broken another pot - this will be the third one.

Got 1/2 an hour before going out again so I think I will repot some more plants prior to leaving. Grandson will be here shortly so he can set out the transplants for me. I should have a revolving door as my place is never empty

 

Still cutting down Fuchsias, took another 30 odd cuttings today ( I just can't bear to throw away the tips I remove, seems a waste of what nature has provided ).

Received my last lot of new Fuchsias yesterday so those were all potted up as well.

Bit disappointed though as the one I really wanted didn't come and was substituted for one I already had :(

Got some Nasturtium " Salmon Baby " ( a small bush variety ) and Canary Creeper seeds to sow ( had them soaking all day ).

Second time with the CC's are they hard to germinate or what ?

 

Today I mixed several batches of soil to plant the tomatoes in the greenhouse and up pot some fig and olive trees. Now, I ache all over.

 

Not much so far today...
Poop-scooped the strip of ground on the roadside of our boundary (we are legally responsible for this, and apparently it is too much work for other dog-owners to clear up after their dogs....

Weeded the gravel path along the side of the house, wrapping in honeysuckle shoots as I went (will prune the laurel back, once the honeysuckle is established). Deadheaded some more narcissus, watered some of the new plants I got earlier in the week. Now to sow some more seeds, and put the kale and cosmos seedlings in the cold frame to start to harden them off ready for planting out. Oh, and need to sow my courgettes too! Then it will be dog-snuggle time again .
