Potting up some plants for number one son to take with him tonight. The rest of the seedlings out there will all be able to stretch their leaves because of getting more room.

Put some dirt and seed potatoes in my potato planter.

And I will get those carrot seeds started... really...

Made a start on my cobbled together pond filter. I need a filter for my pond but was horrified at some of the prices. SO, I had a cunning plan. I already have a pond basket with reeds in which are natural filter. Cheap pond pump from Ebay, £5, £2 of pipe.

Basically, I am taking the water from one side of the pond and pumping it into the top of the basket, and that will filter the water. Well, thats the plan!!

Hmmmm.... Best laid plans, and all.:dunno:

I've not done the seeds and seedling stuff, but I have turned all the compost bays. Not what I was planning on doing this afternoon, hence I still had my rings on, and have the blister to prove it:whistle:. I've also taken the lowest stems off the Herefordshire russet, mulched the damson, cleared out the invasion of lychnis in the angle bed, and mulched the golden celebration roses.

Now time for a cuppa, and a slice of cake :coffee:.

Hi @Anthony Rogers I'm in Clackmannan. The garden is very sheltered and south facing, we routinely see temperatures higher than forecast :)

Planted all the remaining plants from the last garden, strimmed the grass, scattered wildflower seeds, dumped more rubble at the tip and ran away from a big flying insect that looked suspiciously like a wasp :yikes:

The tomato seedlings were beginning to topple over in their 3" pots so I up potted them. We still have several weeks before they can go into the ground, with frost possible this week. As usual I got carried away with starting seeds, so several of these plants will be orphans that I need to find a good home for.

Finished setting up the make shift filter last night, left it running all night and I'm really pleased that it's working a treat, I can see the bottom of the pond!

                            • The bigger railing planters arrived today and I had nothing left to put in them! Popped up to homebase and got some Dianthus (Super Trooper - Sissy) and trailing white Lobelia to put in them
                            • Had too many Lobelia in the multipack so put the 'extra' ones in some hanging baskets
                            • Got a planter for another dwarf Hebe that I'm going to move from the front bed soon, started filling it with compost
