Started hardening off a few seedlings, petunias and fuschia over last few days. Gave everything a feed and I'm so pleased, got 2 little buds on one of my clematis (half dead reduced thing last year)

Yesterday and today I've not been feeling well, so just pottered about really. Husband trimmed the hedge under my supervision and I gave some plants to my neighbour for her front garden now it's all weeded. Planted out some primroses which I bought reduced months ago in the dahlia bed just to bulk them up a bit.
Checked on my dahlias in the greenhouse, most are starting to shoot now. The bed is ready for them as soon as they reach slug proof proportions, I'd guess a month a so.

I looked at my grape vine and it's still living, I planted it inside my polytunnel as outside was in progress.

I have been a busy bee today. I have planted carrots, swede and florence fennel down the allotment (where lots of stuff seems to be growing so far). And I have sown my raised bed down the community garden (all red veg!)

In the garden I have just been admiring the tulips.

Took it easy today, just a couple of little jobs done in between the hail showers.

Gave the lawn a light feed with SM3 seaweed extract. It's been quite breezy here today and I forgot That SM3 is quite a fine powdery material. I now smell of seaweed.

In the greenhouse, potted up a couple of Dahlia tubers, 'First Love' and 'Natal' which were given to Mrs Trunky as a birthday present a couple of months ago. Haven't much experience with Dahlias, any good tips?

Planted out the Beetroot and thought of my neighbour that gave me his spare beetroot seedlings to plant out when I was 7 :)

I started getting the place ready where I'm going to extend one of my Perspex shelters, where I grow my plants, cuttings etc.
Also I planted some hardy Fuchsias in a new flower bed I constructed last year (maybe I'll tell you about that one day)

Thanks @Sian in Belgium. I've potted on three today, one of which is looking very dodgy (a pear tom) but I'll give them all a chance and see whether they improve. :)

I've spent another couple of hours in the greenhouse today. Potted on Ornamental Millet which only took three days on a window sill to germinate. They've gone straight into three inch pots because they need depth for what I presume is a tap root. These plants are new to me so there's a bit of trial and error going on. :)

Various seedlings - now young plants have been potted on again. After having three lots of Cosmos seed fail last year, this year they are taking over as most germinated first time and are growing well. I planted on various other young plants and space for them is now growing short. I need to get some outside for hardening off but the overnight temperatures are still much to low, around 2C which is nowhere near warm enough.

Now @shiney, you didn't listen to a word I said, did you! :doh:I told you to take it easy and now look what you've done! Behave yourself and rest up. :) I know you're working towards Open Weekend but if push comes to shove get the GC gang motivated when they turn up!

                          Hi Sheal,

I think the Cosmos seed success story could have something to do with the supplier being such a wonderful person and giving them a " lucky touch " :)

Yes, the supplier did give them a 'lucky touch' and I thank him for that :) but he didn't supply all of them. Let's hope my neighbours don't kill them all off while I'm away. :doh:What a stoopid time of year to go on holiday! :heehee:

That's a pity . you could have stood them on 3ft supports and used them as planters. :blue thumb:
