        Weeding, weeding, weeding.
Lots of watering too, though not hot it's been quite windy here and dried things out a bit.
Replanted window boxes (took a chance and filled them mid April but they got frosted while I was away).
Also planted out some tomato plants (bought from nursery).
Picked lots of rhurbarb and made rhubarb and ginger jam.
Sorting supports for raspberries, blackberries and some perennials.

Between us we've done three hours of mowing, one hour of trimming edges, a couple of hours of digging weeds out, dug out yards of old grouting from the paving and used up four large tubs of grout, lifted three paving slabs and reset them, cut three large Euonymus hedges, repotted about 50 plants, planted 100 runner bean plants, started weaving the overhead part of one of the ShineyFrames, been doing lots of clearing and tidying ready for Open Day, continued pressure hosing the outside of the summerhouse and got fed up with waiting for the promised rain an have put the sprinkler on the veg patch. :phew:

Bought a lovely Madame Alfred Carriere climbing rose from the local small independent nursery, and 2 trellises from Wilkos. That's tomorrow's job for the front garden! Feet up with the FA Cup now, using the rain as excuse for not cracking on now

Got a few jobs done today. The last of the winter brassicas are finished, the final sprouting broccoli plants were pulled up and fed to the chickens during the week, so I set about dismantling the pigeon netting and tidying up the area ready for the next crop.

Turned over the compost heap, dug out the runner bean trench and took some of the best compost to line the bottom of it. I was going to sow the runners this weekend, but the forecast is predicting cool temperatures here for next week, so I think I'll leave it until next weekend.
Quite pleased with how the compost is looking: DSC08555.JPG
(It doesn't take much to please me ).

Mowed and edged the lawn, mucked out the chickens, emptied a couple of large pots which need replanting and popped a couple of Gazanias in to fill a small space in front of the greenhouse.

Settling down now for some GC and a beer. :ccheers:

We've repotted my edgeworthia chrysantha as didn't flower this year and was looking a bit sad (new leaves all yellow and mottled). It did look very pot bound once we took it out. Moved it from a 30cm into a 46cm pot with enriched moisture control compost. Hopefully it will perk up a bit and maybe flower in winter. I do want to put it in the ground eventually but it needs to be somewhere the flower scent can be enjoyed.

The cucumbers were moved from the grow lights indoors to the greenhouse to begin the hardening off process. This year I will be growing Little Leaf in the greenhouse and Straight 8s outdoors.

More paint and another planter added to my arbour planter, then the heavens opened, I was hoping to finish it today :frown:.
