Lovely sunny day here :spinning: Mowed the front and back grass, give it its first close shave.. 1 and half recycling bags, weeded next door's front garden, gave her 4 begonias as she left hers out and they didnt make it plus still haven't got baskets, then moved a ton of sand from the front up to the back and smothered some weeds. The other half has put it off since he built a wall in Nov so I went done it with a bucket (was doing my nut in). Watered what needed it including my neighbour, gave her a big bottle of cold squash and came in for tea. Wrecked and bruised shoulder.. bath and bed for me :snooze:

One bed left on the back to plant up and just the front to do over the weekend :phew:
Just need the summer to turn up now and make them grow

Got husband to plant 2 more dahlias for me and deadheaded one of the peonies. Marked out where new border and path are going with string. :hapydancsmil::hapydancsmil::hapydancsmil:
Noted a few weeds that need dealing with at some point.

I didn't do too much yesterday, but I did pot on 14 of my chillies, along with some coriander. To my horror, found that I am fast running out of 2 litre pots!! A little lateral thinking - I might end up potting 2 cayenne to a 3 litre pot...:th scifD36:

I was going to cut the grass, but it hasn't really grown that much since the last cut, so instead I wandered around the garden taking photos

miner weeding, couple hours. Then have to attack the gazebo, inside dirty, around outside needs raking and organizing. Have to take all the furniture out etc. I need it pressured washed and stained, not sure when I can get that done, need to hire someone to help there.

Weeding, weeding and a good watering (the raised beds especially were very dry).

Today is sort of my freedom day, as the last of the labor intensive jobs was completed. I planted the cucumbers in the greenhouse, installed the netting and water lines. The soil garden has been planted and covered with black poly to control weeds, maintain moisture and warm the soil. There is not much to do now other than some maintenance, while I watch the plants grow and anticipate my first tomato of the season. Also, I always find it amazing how quickly the cucumbers find and attach themselves to the netting; literally in a matter of minutes it seems.

So the gardeners came while we were at work, did an ok job of the border (needs more compost/manure adding), a good job of the path to greenhouse and a pig's ear of the last part.
Husband came home, ranted, and redid the last part.
I removed some couch grass and sprayed a few weeds with round up.
Not sure what I will do tomorrow yet.

I've been digging over borders in the front garden with manure and transplanting a couple of roses. Also planted what seems like a gazillion plug plants and then gave everything in the front garden a good soak. I'm now knackered so am going to have a rest and see how my back feels later. I really must keep on top of my garden - hardly did anything last year - because there's so much to do of the hard stuff, ie digging and root pruning big plants and repotting. Borders at the back are in a bad way - clay soil and they are compacted, so I need to dig those over as well, but not today.

Bit miffed because at dusk yesterday I sprayed all the bindweed which wants to dominate an area in the garden: squirt, squirt, squirt! Woken up at 2am to torrential rain, some thunder and some lightening - so, all my squirting will be for nothing after that downpour
So, all I have done today is to plant a planter with a couple of climbers and some other young plants that were being nurtured in a make shift cold frame.
