Potted up my roma seedlings and was delighted to see that my gazania seeds germinated. Brought them up into the daylight... Running out of space in the kitchen :snork:

I haven't managed to anything substantial yet, mix of rotten weather and crazy winds.

First job I need to do is sort my greenhouse so I can get seedlings going but the weather has been against me.

        Hopefully next weekend.

Gave the purple sycamore tree a new flat top. Had a peek inside the treefern to see if its still ok, just a trace of freeze so added dogs old bed to it for added protection.

Today I hard pruned our two Clematis viticella and also hard pruned the three Ricinus communis 'Carmenchita' that are still clinging onto life (slightly). Bit of an experiment with the Ricinus as they probably won't survive but you never know.

Gave the Dahlia tubers a spritz of water. They all seem fine.

Also did a general sweep up around the place... which isn't that exciting ;)

Snowdrops are about to flower with us now, little white buds are glowing.

So much for the rest. We started replacing the fence that got trashed in the recent storms.

At last, the weather has let me do some proper work in the garden! I've dug over and weeded two beds and opened my composter for the first time in months. It was absolutely running alive with worms, I've not seen it like that before in the five years I've had it! :thud:

I've brought my electric propagator in from the shed, given it a good clean and replaced the capillary matting ready to get it under way sometime this week. The growing season is finally here!

You can leave them, they just flower higher up I believe. Personally, for one of ours I was tempted just to let is scramble through large shrubs. But decided it was probably better to chop lower down this year to see what happens (it's only its second year).
