Woke up to snow so no outdoor work achieved ...but finished replanting all the rest of the Pelargoniums that had flowered all summer in pots on the patio-they had spent the last few weeks flowering there heads off on the potting shed bench -now indoors on the windowsill to overwinter ready for replanting next summer :blue thumb: Still snowing and settling so not much outside jobbie's predicted for tomorrow, except maybe build a snowman :snowman:.... :heehee:

Very cold with strong winds and sleety showers here. So, been painting the hallway, cleaning the conservatory roof ( inside ) and all the framework. Managed to plant the half price bulbs I bought and have bought another bag of bark chips to cover them with. Weather looks less windy today so might get out in garden later.

Small hedgehog seen on camera last night , estimate around 400-500g. Will check the houses later in case its taken shelter in one.

An hour - Are you a man or a mouse ! :snorky:
I do find working in bitterly cold weather very wearing. I would only do half an hour max . 99% of jobs can usually be put off to warmer times.

I lasted an hour only because I was wearing thermal Long Johns and a long sleeved thermal vest - as well as all the other clothes :) My fingers froze :rolleyespink:

I need to put my outside lights. Its turned really cold these last 2 days. There's talk of snow tomorrow. I'm thinking I should have done it earlier.

Thanks to the advice on my poorly rose on another thread, I went out and took off all the poorly leaves and then trimmed the stems back to a 4" height. All the bits which have been removed were burned in my old chimnea and the ashes put (cold) into the wheelie bin.

Not in the houses but there was one I didn't check as I think there is already a hog in there. It could possibly be in there - I've stuffed the entrance with fresh hay so will know tomorrow.

Spent around half hour this afternoon spreading bark chips over newly planted bulbs. Also, rearranged a rock pile I made couple of months ago so it now has two 'caves' built into it :). Spent rest of afternoon painting hallway.

Tidied the Greenhouse last week, that took a couple of days with pots and plants thrown in out of the cold. Finished it off today cleaning the glass looks spick and span now :).

I'll start sowing some seeds the first week of January, cant wait :hapfeet:. Still need to clean the little pots out I use for sowing seeds in, maybe a job for tomorrow or during the week.

Planted the broad bean plants, turned over compost heap and watered it, then pruned the red currant and gooseberry bushes and dug up some parsnips for tomorrow.
