Which reminds me.. can we have a "show us your recent purchases 2017" thread, pretty please! Bought myself some new (to me) plants yesterday, including a poppy (bog standard oriental allegro), still going to buy some of the pretty bare roots poppies too, I need to fill my back border up

I was going to do some work on the raised beds today, but when I got up there was a light covering of snow, so I fed the birds and realised it was freezing so scrapped it. So I've ended up doing some housework instead.

I potted up another 72 allium siculum (171 so far), more clearing of moss from flower beds veg plot, did a bit more tidying and Michael collected another ton of horse manure and put most of it on the compost heaps and spread some where he had dug out 60sq ft of Vinca (some will be potted up for sale).

We cut down eight 7ft high grasses, cut back a Fuschia magellanica that was 8ft high and 6ft diameter (haven't done it for a couple of years) and trimmed back some sistus.

I potted up some of my beefsteak tomato plants and my marigolds. Started some new hot pepper seeds, Bhut jolokia, 7 pot yellow, scorpion butch T and scorpion moruga. I had let the soil blocks dry out by mistake and the first sowing petrified. Luckily it was only these 4 varieties that I killed off.

It felt so nice and relaxing to fling mud in pots and play. :)

Obviously they are pretty thick to start lecturing a person who is holding a shovel. :heehee:

Nothing today, although I got back home to find that the courier had delivered my first order of 3 Eremus Bungeii and left it in the mail box, with a note pushed through the letter box. There's a second order due of 3 Eremus Robustus due, hopefully, tomorrow. I've got a sack of horticultural grit and a sack of sharp sand ready so that I can make the planting areas as ideal as I can for them. So, if the second order arrives tomorrow or Wednesday I will plant them in a nice spot and also plant the 3 Dierama in the centre of the walk around border. There's some other "stuff" in the Green House that will need planting, along with a large collection of Cyclamen and Primroses that need to be put into the pot containers. I'm not in work until Thursday so I'm hoping the forecast mild weather will be here tomorrow.:snorky:

                                What's he doing wearing flipflops!?

To be fair, I think he needed a good chat, he seems a bit of an odd ball (coming from me haha!). Told me he was in the secret service.. not so secret now is it?

Hope the weather and postman is kind to you @ARMANDII :dbgrtmb:
