Snorky beat me to the question WO.....A lovely combination, mother nature's skills, is on towans behind me where white and red valerian grow together. :)
Wasps like the ripened fruit esp when pecked by the blackbirds first Snorky:smile:
Important shopping today.....had to get a bubble machine from Argos. I love em, er I mean my great niece loves em :hapfeet:
Lovely summer's day........think I will plant out Persicaria Dikke Foskes and Sanguisorba Blackthorn. Gave away some salvia patens recently....local hospice....but they would have looked good with some red echinaceas here. I have become increasingly tired of a spirea Goldflame (poor clone) so it will be removed and create a space. I have S Cacalifolia plants so will use those instead :)

Looking fab @Snorky85 you deserved that bottle of vino

Have not done anything in the garden really, the weather has been horrendous..

took the pool down as there is just no sign of summer here, nearly lost a trampoline the other day to the wind..suprised I haven't lost my blow-away greenhouse considering it's not pegged down! Really need to mow the lawn but it's just not drying out enough before another mother load of rain comes in. Bought a walk in cage for the chickens that needs to be put up too.. but before that, need to move fence panels that have been sitting up the back to the patio to dry out and get painted. Still no sign of the boundary wall being done between me and next door... suppose you can't build in this rain anyways  Too wet to do anything up the allotment except feed/water things in polytunnel..

I've now mowed the front lawns and started picking runners. I gave up when I got tired of trying to dodge the raindrops as they kept falling on my head. :heehee:

In for a lager....it is hot in the garden. I rushed around like a dervish hecause now and then a shower threatens but it simply passes by and bothers the unrighteous :heehee:
Grass cut and fed, potted plants fed but more to do.
Yes WO, on the towans leading to the beach pink, red and white valerian abound. Just a thought, instead of alternating them how about a white now and then among the red? A splash of white goes a long way.

In my sunken garden this morning because rain forecast for this afternoon. Nearly three and still not reached us in the far east.

Interesting to see Monty Don's summer divided plants all doing well last night on GW.

Rescued my very neglected  raised bed from creeping buttercup, nettles and various other nasties ( bindweed being one ):phew:
I'm not convinced I got all the roots so it can stay empty for a while and I'll keep an eye on it :th scifD36:

Managed to mow and edge the lawns finally, its been raining all week the ground saturated now. keep moving the lily pots around african queen grow very tall, stargazer just about to flower found some lily beetle grubs last week on it
Went to GC the other day bought a phormium black velvet - trollius golden queen and I found acanthus mollis for a quid in the clearance section.
Planted out the phormium in the supposed to be HOT border, potted up some ivy for winter pots and replanted acanthus in a 5 litre pot.

Hardy geraniums thinning to new locations. leaves might start falling, oh horrid. have to find a young guy in a kilt to rake them.

Took three cuttings from my hardy Fuchsia. Bees really love it :). Thinking about turning the side garden into a Fuchsia garden :snorky:.

Had a trip to Abergele to collect a Belfast sink bought on Ebay. Was advertised for £25 ONO. MY offer of £15 was accepted. When we got there the sink had a large crack running down one side and across the bottom, which had propagated into a second crack. This was not stated on Ebay advert. They claimed they were not aware of the damage. However, as they had emptied the sink of soil before we arrived they must have seen the damage. They said nothing, just waited to see what I would say. After some discussion I bought the sink for £5. The crack can be filled and a lick of enamel paint to tidy it up a little. I just love Belfast sinks and this one is like trough, a shape I don't have. Pleased with my ' bargain ', but annoyed with the somewhat dishonest attitude of the sellars.

Today will just be more mowing and harvesting. I'm hoping to be able to trim some of the lawn edges but seriously don't think I'll get that far.

@Verdun Are you by the Towans on the north or south coast? Sorry, I'm just nosey :noidea:

@Snorky85 well done on your excellent gardening and all the pressure of the TV crew! Hope it went well and sounds like you had a lovely time!

@luciusmaximus that is VERY dishonest of the seller! Well done on haggling, but still - not very nice on their part if the thing isn't in the right condition! I hope you gave them not-great feedback on eBay?

I had a mammoth weeding session yesterday (not weeding a mammoth, they probably don't have weeds?) and the garden looks a bit more palatable. There has also been some mowing going on!

Lots more today, putting a couple of crazy-well-growing Lobelia from the main garden into a hanging basket, some potting on, and also moving some white Impatiens into a planter with red geranium and bright green fern - should look very striking!
