No jobs in garden or house. We've still got another 20 - 30 years to go before decorating needs doing.

Another punnet of blackberries in the oven for tea, covered in crumble and cream.

I'm really pleased with the two blackberry plants I put in 2 years ago, really have given us plenty this year at least a punnet a week.
They are thornless as well so searching under branches is not painful, another bargain from B&M.
They do need more support as the branches dip low with fruit, also need to be kept in check as the new growth can grow a few feet in a week I also prune back at the end of the season.
Cleaned up the mud from the dogs, don't how they can be so muddy together but clean when apart.

        Interesting Jimcub.
How does the flavour compare with the usual thorned varieties? :)

Septic tank all done. Damage to garden is minimal, couple of plants with pieces snapped off, tyre tread marks in front and back gardens and a large area of bare soil where the grass used to be around the new tank.

Skip arrived this morning, so after the guys had chucked in the old soak away soil we spent a couple of hours filling the skip with all the rubbish that has been accumulating in different places including around 20 bags of soil and gravel and some quite large lumps of concrete left by previous owners. Very tired when we finished.

Had to take :hhog: to vet this morning. One of mine I found in the garden very thin, dehydrated and dragging a front leg. I wasn't able to see usual vet, instead saw a pleasant young guy who manipulated hog's left front leg and said it appeared to be fine. I politely informed him it was the other leg that was damaged! I asked for an x- ray and have left :hhog: at vets . Later on received phone call from another vet ( new I think ), who said x - ray revealed old break that has healed. She asked if I wanted to take hog back to continue trying to rehabilitate him. I suggested that a :hhog: would find it quite difficult to survive with a leg that is dragging as it will affect his ability to mobilise on 3 legs, will likely get damaged further and then become infected. She did say she hadn't considered this. Will hopefully speak to Dave ( usual vet ) tomorrow for discussion on amputation.

Tastes like blackberries to me, there does not seem to be much difference in taste.

Today I managed to transfer the last grains of sand out of the bulk bag. I can now start to think about disposing of all the trees and bushes I have been cutting down this summer.

I made a start on one border preparing it for spring, I will lose the small lawn here next year and have a pathway with wider border each side,

Other borders still have lots of caterpillar's munching away so they will have to wait.

Thank you B :), I like Robins my favourite bird :), every plant in my garden is wildlife friendly,

I've let the middle part of the garden go wild, it helps hide the bottom part of my large satellite dish and helps the wildlife, the area is only about 10ft x 8ft but its a heaven for wildlife ill get a few pictures of what's in there:),

I need to move the small bushes (marked red) to there final resting place, would now ne a good time are wait while spring please.

@martin-f You have achieved so much in what you consider a modest garden- hats off to you as your an inspiration to what can be accomplished for yourself to enjoy without sacrificing the needs of our Wildlife :yay:
I always feel that Autumn is the better time for me as i don't have to worry about the watering in - and to be honest Spring is such as busy time with everything coming up im not wanting to disturb anything and im always wanting to enjoy that time of the year, my Spring garden is the one that i've really finished -its very early Summer when im adding - then Autumn is the main time to move and add as i then can see whats needed to keep the flowering continuation :)
