WHAT JOBS ARE WE DOING IN THE GARDEN TODAY - 2017

Good afternoon @Jiffy my friend and many thanks for helping Woo,very much appreciated

Just prepared and made lunch for Mrs Woo and Daughter and eaten mine,the sun is out and its a blue sky so I shall get on with planting them.and then on with the painting

 

The only thing I did in the garden today due to the stormy weather was to put on my cold weather fishing jacket and boots to have an amble around the garden to check for any damage. To my surprise there were no fence panels on the West side or on the East side that were out of place or damaged. My garden slopes down about 3 feet from top to bottom and my Wild Life pond is at the bottom so it was sheltered from any winds and it was fine. I built my Arbour purposely to allow winds to pass through it

But I'm always aware of the natural power of the winds so I was relieved to find the Arbour was just fine.
My Green House is fairly exposed to the West Wind but again I was happy to find that it was withstanding the 35mph gusts of wind without any problem. The Observatory is round and smooth in shape so air flows around it nicely so the only thing I had done the day before was to turn the roof so that the shutter was facing West and that the dome was locked down. After a short drive around the local district and seeing the wind damage all around I think I was very lucky to find no damage on the property.

 

Good morning to day I am planting my 25 bare root common Hawthorn edge,and then its masonry painting for the next 2/3 days decided to go with cream and brown colours,then 6 large plastic pots to paint,and then,I think that's enough to be going on with,enjoy your day

 

I got back from Manchester just as the daylight was fading and after making a mug of Tea, bowed to the impulse to pot up the Allium Nectarcordium Sicilium and put them in the Green House to grow on. I'd ordered 10 of the bulbs but found they'd kindly given me 13, so I've potted them up and will probably put them into the ground at the end of March.

 

That's a very kind offer that we shall be glad to accept. I'm sure we can reciprocate in kind .

I'm surprised that you missed them on the sales table. We got so many request for more that I spent a lot of time digging more out of the garden. Ziggy gave me a hand with them at one time.

I also may have a handful of bulbs that I haven't potted up yet that I can give you. Depends on whether I get around to it as I've been doing a lot of the jobs that she normally does (at least twice as fast as I can do them!) as the lurgy has kept her from the garden for a month already. She's now having a week of complete rest and seems to be recovering - slowly.

 

Good evening I have been digging out a small soakaway in the patio area as the rain water lays at times,and just a little masonry painting,will finish it tomorrow put a grill cover over it an cement it in,I now have frozen talons)as its been a very cold wind all day

 

They're already potted up and marked "For Shineyland"

Well, I think there were people there faster than I was!!! I did see my Pal, Ziggy, giving you a hand digging up some plants but, to be honest, I would have felt guilty about "robbing" plants straight out of the soil, especially from such a lovely garden as yours, Shiney. I give quite a few plants away every year myself to friends and the
Local Gardening Club but hate parting with some of the plants!!
